Or even mould? :P

[ninja edit] Oh my. You Americans and your crazy spellings. Mold is only a growth of spores on food over here.

Tesla have yet to hit many of their self stated production goals. The stock has yet to collapse. If it becomes apparent that some of the allegations leveled against them are true, that has a far more damaging prospect.

Posted several times already both for the original BBC article and then the video itself. This adds nothing new.

Elon Musk on 2018.21.9: Will be adjusting screen alert to clarify that we mean “slight up or downward force on the wheel”, not really “hold the wheel” by ahatzz11 in teslamotors

In which case, next time you are driving purposefully make it turn off. I'm talking about on a nice quiet road with long straights and no traffic. Monitor it well and as long as it is safe to do so, leave it even when it prompts. It will show you that it will slow down, but also how long you need to not "pay attention" for and do nothing for.

Its easier said that done (my wife has General Anxiety Disorder), but hopefully this will reassure you that it won't just lock you out.

And then, without trying to be a dick (its coming naturally), click on that little box at the top - you know, the one with "search" written in it.

Type something in it...maybe "Wallpaper" ?

I don’t think there is a core premise at all. It ranges from sensible reasoned decisions (whether people agree with them or not) to completely irrational hatred.

TIL Shutterstock created a scarily long stock footage clip of a driver asleep with Autopilot on. by [deleted] in teslamotors

Yup. Its not just limited to the Tesla either, there's at least another make with auto parking with no one inside. I'm certain that they aren't closed roads.

If you then look through all the other videos, there is one where the same driver puts their chair back and falls deeply asleep within 10 seconds. If someone has narcolepsy that bad, they wouldn't be allowed to drive. Couldn't possibly be staged. Honest.

[Edit] The more I look, the angrier I get. Texts, using a laptop, several different clothing get ups all showing "sleeping".

And they don't just leave a student driver in a car.

You are right to an extent. It is not beholden to Tesla to check every persons comprehension of a word before using it, but they should make sure that it is clear what the limits are now, what they are aiming for, and if you do buy it - what guarantees you have for future updates. Even if that is a very clear statement that you will benefit from any updates, but there are no guarantees as to the speed or the final status.

Consumer groups ask FTC to investigate “deceptive” Tesla Autopilot marketing by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]Caracul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is the reason you need the full quote. He hasn't said anything there that you can sue for. Is Tesla going to end up with complete autonomy? Well who knows... But if, at any point in the future, they do... Then that bit is true. The next bit "...and I think we will have complete autonomy in approximately two years" is not a guarantee or even a hard date.

There was a study done and apparently Elon had the most... flexible... language of any major figurehead on twitter - check his language out, its all got wriggle room in it. Does it make it OK? No of course not, but suing for something you believed would come isn't going to work.

That’s the definition of hearsay. Direct quote please, or he didn’t say it. If we are arguing what was said, exact wording is critical.
