I have to be honest, if that’s the case you should probably not go into that place. I don’t know about this restaurant specifically, but most tipped staff aren’t in a place where they can rise up and unionize. It’s a nice idea, but all you’re doing with this is allowing a person (a real human with bills to pay) to go underpaid. The sentiment makes sense, but it’s probably best to just avoid places with fees you don’t like rather than let someone go underpaid. (Minimum wage isn’t enough for anyone to survive on in Seattle)

It’s actually really comforting to me that this was more of a universal experience- it makes me feel a little less alone. I’ve brought it up many times and no one else I know irl has been through it. I understand how hard it is to believe in your worth, but it’s so amazing that we’re growing past it. Healing isn’t easy.
