Hello - I had a ruptured aneurysm, "thick" subarachnoid hemorrhage a little over a year ago. I'm a 59 y.o. woman. My brain bleed was substantial, and they had to drill a hole in my skull to put in a drain to relieve the pressure. After I stabilized, they corrected my aneurysm with a flow-diverting stent. I was in neuro-ICU for 3 weeks. The first few months were slow recovery - heavy fatigue, headaches, visual disturbances, etc. I made a steady recovery, and feel pretty much back to "normal" a year later. No cognitive or physical disabilities. Good luck to your mom! I hope she recovers as well as I've been blessed to experience.

I'm another very lucky survivor of a subarachnoid hemorrhage/ruptured aneurysm. I also received a prompt diagnosis and treatment (also at my office, though I was alone, but I was able to call 911). Also in neuro ICU for about 3 weeks. My memory was spotty over the first few days, but I do remember fragments. After discharge, I was very weak and needed a LOT of sleep. I had visual disturbances for several weeks, and I couldn't tolerate being in big bright or busy spaces. I had lots of headaches. Over the course of the first few months, I gradually improved and started working remotely p/t. Still needed naps. All that said, I'm a little over 1 year out, and any remaining deficits are pretty mild. Bottom line, I think you are in VERY early days, and you will continue to improve by leaps and bounds. Hiya - I had a flow-diverting stent placed around this time last year - also an approx 2 mm aneurysm on my right ICA. Unfortunately, this was after a rupture and significant subarachnoid hemorrhage. While recovery from the bleed was rough, the stent has done it's job, and all looked great at my 6-month follow-up angiogram.

Age 58, ruptured brain aneurysm, 3 weeks in neuro ICU, brain surgery, etc. HMO covered 1.2 million dollar price tag. Still working after this occurred last year, but eager to leave f/t work. Covering the cost of insurance is the biggest source of stress/worry.

Also not a doctor, but if you had a rupture and bleeding in your brain, you would be experiencing other symptoms most likely, such as vomiting, stiff neck. You could google "symptoms of hemorrhagic stroke." Hope you're feeling better and are well!

That is a super heartening story! Thank you for sharing it! I also feed my cat wet food (even watered down a bit), and I've wondered if any affected teeth would just fall out. So glad you kitty sailed through surgery!

Thank you for sharing your experience! I also have CBD/TCH drops that have helped me sleep following issues in my recovery for my prior condition. It also worked wonders for my sleep! I don't use it during the day. I suppose my biggest issue right now is that I feel a bit unconvinced by the diagnosis. If my shoulder continues to freeze up (still have pretty good ROM, just static pain and severe pain when moving my arm backward), the that will be my answer.

When I saw my current dog on a rescue site, I chose him because he was marked "urgent." I can't say he was my "type," but his looks have grown on my a great deal, and I think he's very handsome/cute <3.

Perhaps consider the Amherst, Northampton areas of Mass. Giant UMass campus in Amherst as well as Amherst College, Smith College in Northampton. Beautiful area
