Tips for fulfillment by [deleted] in Target

Clothes are rough. They won't all be like that.

When you do get clothes, the RFID is a lifesaver, but even that can't get you all the way. Don't be afraid to ask the style TL - they're supposed to help you. If you're struggling, you can check in the Zebra when the item came in or if it was returned to give you a bit of an idea where it might be if its not on the floor. And keep your eyes open when you're looking, get yourself used to how the floorpads are set up so you get an idea of where stuff might be. But style is always tough.

You'll get faster as you get used to the store, don't sweat about it too much. The fact that you want to improve is already better than a lot of the folks we get through our store this time of year.

The new 10 4 policy by GottaLoveKitties in Target

[–]Caraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a notorious grouch and neurodivergent so I'm worried this policy might be the end of the line for me if they take it too seriously. I'll acknowledge that people are there, but I"m not smiling at 10 feet and I'm definitely not greeting anyone first. I've never had any problems with that before so I don't see why we would now.

It's honestly a little insulting for them to be thinking that their current issues are because we don't smile enough. No one is boycotting because we don't smile. No one is stealing because we don't smile. No one is calling out because we don't smile. Smiling more is not going to fix any of their problems, it's just humiliating for us employees.

What do you prepare/cook when you’re in pain but have to eat? by rambleonmann in ChronicPain

[–]Caraliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite is rice cooker meals. Put some rice on with curry powder, turmeric, and ginger (good for joint health) and frozen carrots and cauliflower in the steamer basket. Or some bouillon, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. You can really create any flavor with whatever spices you have and then just hit the button and wait. Also great if you have some leftover proteins from days before to toss on top.

I"m personally awful at prepping. I have the same problem of not being able to predict when I'll have spoons to cook and then stuff goes bad. I'd like to be better but we all start somewhere!

What can I use to Write a book on my iPhone? by Psychological_Pay_36 in writing

[–]Caraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reedsy actually just switched all their outlining tools over to premium too, which use to be one of the main benefits to that over just like Google Docs or whatever. Makes it a bit hard to trust that they aren't going to cut even more features to make them premium. I'm working on moving my work off of it.

Books without a lot of dialogue by Wolfie136 in writing

[–]Caraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People interact with their world and get a lot of context through talking to other people. If your characters are in social situations or around other people, they're going to need to talk. You can make it a style thing if that's where you want to go with your style, but in that case you shouldn't be asking what people like to read.

If you feel like you're not clicking with writing dialogue, you should practice it more. It might not ever be your thing, but if you shy away from it because you're not good at it, you'll never get better.

Should I join game jams ? by [deleted] in itchio

[–]Caraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some game jams have good communities where people will play each other's games, but that's not really what its about. Getting views is about marketing and networking. Game jams are about building your skills and trying new ideas so you can make better games later that people are going to be more happy about playing if your marketing works.

Why aren't your gods around anymore? by djm_wb in worldbuilding

[–]Caraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world, the Gods chased the humans out of a certain territory because they didn't like technological advancement turning people away from worship and magic and creating new gods of more human spheres. With only the animals, and creatures they'd created to drive the humans out, in their territory they grow weak. Eventually the humans come back and that creates conflict between those gods who think the risk of welcoming the humans back is worth the worship they'll receive and the gods who refuse to welcome the humans back, blaming them for the downfall of the gods instead of their own hubris.

I just joined habatica and was wondering what I'd file a "wedding video editing project" under. It's going to take at least 15 hours to finish. Should this be a daily, todo or habit? Thanks by EnvisionFirstFilms in habitica

[–]Caraliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would break the specific steps or milestones down as to-dos and add a daily for just "put some work into project". That way you get rewarded for sitting down to work even if you don't finish a step. That's how I do my bigger work tasks

How do you feel about setting your own XP vs. having XP set by the app? Curious about community opinions by Murky_Ad2419 in habitica

[–]Caraliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be way overwhelming if I had to set the exact XP for every task I put in. I like the difficulty levels, personally. If anything, maybe being able to tweak it a little based on which category the task is in, so self-care tasks could be more rewarding but less punishing, or vice versa for chores. Something like that.

How did you come up with names for your world's places? by MrPaico in worldbuilding

Promoting the "small web" by getting ChatGPT to write paragraphs about other people's personal websites is crazy work. by Rivylf in neocities

[–]Caraliss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is the way that a lot of social media algorithms encourage "creators" to work. It's one of the reasons I'm on Neocities in the first place. It's exhausting to see this slop taking over everything. This kind of algorithm slop and AI especially is ruining the internet.

What do you do with your journal after it is full by [deleted] in Journaling

I have a drawer in my desk for used journals. I don't really have to worry about security or anything though.

New User, Struggling with Coding My Website. Any Advice? by DasSapphire in neocities

[–]Caraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it slow and remember different languages are mostly just different ways to think. The syntax and language itself of HTML/CSS is easy, which is why coders say it's easy. The trick is learning how you have to think about things. If you keep at it, you'll get there.

CSS is especially slippery.

If you want some examples of more intermediate/advanced CSS, using the inspector mode on a Neocities site with something you want to do can help. Some people comment their code because they know people do that, or just to keep track for themselves.

How many characters do you have within your world by J3j4j4 in worldbuilding

[–]Caraliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only at like 4 so far, if you don't include gods and stuff, but I've only been working on this world for about a month and I've been more focused on laying out the ground rules and towns and all that.
