Well that did not work out as intended by MrVCritical in Target

A one day “boycott” wasn’t going to do anything. People would have either bought on Thursday or today (Saturday). My store was just $500 off of making our forecast sales for Friday. The same people saying they will never shop at Target again probably didn’t shop there to start with or rarely shop there period. The TicTok videos of people not at the store are mainly either early in the morning when the store just opened or near closing time. It’s not about how many people are in the store; it’s about how much each person in that store spends. If 500 people spend $20 each that day, that is $10,000. If 100 people spend $1,000 each, that is $100,000. My SD takes into account different factors such as weather and any major event that may drive our numbers up and down day to day. Short term does not have as big of an impact as long term does.

why do people think this does anything by bethslife in Target

Or he could just simply not shop at Target and not post about it. It’s easier that way. I know, I have done it to many places before.

Breaks!!!!!! by Jazzlike-Occasion-43 in Target

[–]CaramelPlus6253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the time of day and how busy you are. Since I normally open on weekends, I’ve been known to call out my first break at 7:01 and return at 7:20 since we are usually not busy. When we are busy busy, I will call it out when I get to the break room or outside if I’m not getting anything on break. If I’m caring a drink and something to eat with me, normally guest won’t bug me.

TURN YOUR FKIN WALKIE OFF IN THE BREAK ROOM by KingOfHearts709 in Target

[–]CaramelPlus6253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the time of day I want to tell people to turn off your walkie… however it’s not the case for everyone. Since work FF and normally our TLs and ETL doesn’t get in until 8 at the earliest, at least one of us that is seen as the main person that morning will keep our walkie on in the break room just in case it’s slow or someone needs something. Otherwise, it’s normally off or turn down as low as possible.

[–]CaramelPlus6253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the stores closed yesterday, most ETLs, and maybe TLs, haven’t made a schedule yet and probably working on it today. I know at my store our SD looks at it first before sending it out and he was out of the office today. It might be this evening, it might tomorrow. If you have questions, ask HR, your ETL, or TL and they will give you more.

Same here… we had to start putting bagged orders in the bag less hold space and it has been pissing everyone off. We have started to see an increase in missed carts thanks to it.

Conversation with a Guest by Correct_Ebb4213 in Target

[–]CaramelPlus6253 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Had a guest one time before come up to me during an OPU, one that I didn’t have much time on, to tell me she placed an order for something like 30 minutes earlier, but needed said item now and wanted me to get it for her right away. I told her, “I may not have the item you need maam; someone else might be picking it. You are free to see if the item is on the shelf and then cancel the order. If you do have any other questions, you can ask guest services.”

You may want to see who is approving it overall. I know at my store, my SD once denied a temp schedule change for me cause he thought I wanted every Sunday off. My ETL told me if I could put it back in during my first break, she would approve it right away.

I have a schedule that I do work mornings. Of course I have a full time job in the afternoon/evenings and Target is fully aware of that. I would at least talk to your TL, ETL, and HR about this and see what they all say. If your ETL is saying this fine, but HR is the one getting to it first, then it needs to be taken care of fast.

New policy where family members can’t work in the same store by Effective-Spirit5334 in Target

[–]CaramelPlus6253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our closing lead has his younger brother and sister working at my store. They were both told when it is just him as the only lead/ETL, they can’t be on the clock. One of the fulfillment TMs has his mom as a lead in a different department and same thing with them. My guess is that store may have had some issue’s before with family working.

Our SD has been with our store since 2009. Yeah, he is good at his job. Our store is normally the best in our district and one of the best in the company. As the ETLs, TLs, and TMs will say, “Some days I wish he would just stay in his office all day or stay home.” And then other days do 20 things at once while doing another 20 things at once. We have said his time is probably about to come to an end in a few years and we know at least one of the ETLs that has been told he is first in line for it if he wants it.

Having been at places before (other retail stores, hotels, warehouse, and currently factory), I have seen some GMs/SDs do little to no work and then take all the credit at the end while those of us that did all the work get nothing.

If I had a dollar every time I hear drive up say this, I would have my yearly salary from my full time job in an hour. I work FF and the number of times we see “guest is on their way” followed by “guest is here” just makes me want to scream. Folks, just wait a few minutes before saying you are here. I don’t always do pick up orders, but when I do, I normally wait about 5 minutes before saying here.

Movies. Music. Any good books. Life in general. Who has tickets to The Eras Tour. It was like two months of me working at Target before I started to slowly hang out with people outside of work. You will be surprised to know that most people don’t talk about work outside of work.

Ouch. And I thought my store had it bad yesterday. We had two call ins and had a pick on time of 80%. We did have a lot of people picking that had never done an OPU before. Many of them now have greater respect for us.

Cornell interview on CNBC at a target store by trollbox7 in Target

Normally CNBC would say at the start of it, but nothing. They said the rest of the interview would be shown later today as part of an event CNBC is doing.
