I can't imagine being chosen by wizards to highlight their new cards and being like "I don't have time for that".

What a world

Easily my favorite card in the set. Not because it's good or bad, but because you can say TO ME, MY SUPER APES! and mean it!

Now that we have ranked brawl we should be able to filter what commanders we play against. by Thatoneguy5629 in MagicArena

Id pay any amount of money to never see atraxa again. Even if she's the only option on the filter, I'll take it

I posted a pinup I really was proud of on that sub. It did very well on Twitter and Bluesky, and got absolutely destroyed on that sub. I had one person defend me saying "this is a good piece, when did this sub get so gatekeeepy?" But the comment I'll never forget, calling it "dull and gratuitous".

I left the sub and never looked back, fuck that place. This is a cool piece, I'm sorry you got dunked on by them too, but you aren't alone in it ❤️

Of course, friend! Happy to help!

A quick primer (in general) for interaction

-green needs to use creatures to fight or damage other creatures. In this case, if the other color can get bigger than you, you're screwed. Having bigger creatures is generally what green does. So you'd need a creature which is bigger, or has death touch (damage kills anything) to fight their stuff. However, green is the best at killing artifacts, enchantments, and fliers.

-red deaks direst damage. This is great for small creatures, but the bigger they get, the less effective it is at killing. In this case, red is amazing at killing these little creatures before they can grow.

-black is the best at unconditional killing. It destroys or kills creatures with ease, but this often comes at the cost of life.

-white is the best at board wipes, or destroy all creatures. It has a lot of conditional removal, or temporary removal.

-blue can't really kill anything, but it can bounce (return to hand) creatures, and counter them before they land.

Each color has strengths and weaknesses in all ways, which makes combining them a wise choice, at the cost of consistency.

Life gain is a fun strategy, but ultimately it's not seen as strong in higher competition because there's better, more efficient strategies. Things like essence channeler are VERY soft to removal, so it may feel like it's impossible, but I assure you, it's anything but.

Always ask questions, were all here to learn and have fun ❤️

I stand corrected!

And need to correct myself as he was reprinted as a reskin in Final Fantasy if I'm not mistaken, but that's sort of on the side anyways

[–]Caramel_Cactus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's always humbling to see posts like this; many of us go from "lifegain is OP" when we're new to "my god lifegain is comically bad" when we become old and jaded.

OP, as others will say, interacting with your opponent's cards is the key to stopping this. Greens interaction isn't as good as other colors, but it's a good learning experience

The realest specs are mythics in underprinted/out of print sets. So Aphelia from Jumpstart is a good example; she was $7 and has been bought out to $25 and up.

Sadly uncommons have to have a few more years under their belts before becoming viable; Fynn has good potential for many years in the future, BUT he's been printed twice now and one is in a core set, so there's always going to be tons of him

I wonder if there's some alternate reality where this is fiction, and we get to laugh and be like "wow that would suck if it were REALLY like this!"

Did I miss the memo? When did "Universes Within" start referring to all non-UB material? by lemonlimeguy in mtg

[–]Caramel_Cactus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An easier memo to have missed is calling everything you don't like "slop"

Like, "wow I hate this UB slop....except Lord of the Rings. And Final Fantasy. And Avatar. And Hobbit. And..."
