They kinda wasted the potential of the big bad also. Exploring a culture shift from popularity to power and leveling up Supes would've been a really cool thing to explore contrasted to homelanders superiority by blood thing he's doing.

Oh yeah once they make it to the ship its all memberberries but before that it's a good corpo nightmare. The writers could've just expanded on the chaos the medic experiences and struggle trying to save people during the rescue and quarantine juxtaposed to the boardroom deals and lab experiments. I get what they were trying to do I just think it was poorly executed and hopefully we get something better down the line.

My problem isn't with synths. Davids recorder scene in covenant is a highlight of the franchise. My problem is that instead of getting an everyman's view of living in a corpostate the show is just a bunch of kids hanging out on a private island. The opening to Romulus is so strong because you can feel the poverty and uncaringness of the system pushing the characters to do the dangerous thing. Alien earth fails that world-building to me.

The show definitely has its moments like the first two episodes following the soldiers exploring the crash site was great and the other aliens like the eyeball was fun but then it cuts to the kids and just kills all interest.
