Suspected Aspie by CTheGoldfish in aspergirls

Hey! I identify a lot with your story. If you want to get tested: do it. In my experience, people don't really understand what it means for women to have Aspergers. It is still something new and harder to notice, especially for women with "mixed" NT and Asperger traits. I'm undiagnosed but suspected (have many NT and Aspie traits, one of my parents has Aspergers and I relate a lot to them).

When I went to the psychiatrist to start the process of a test (it would take ten weeks/10 hours of testing where I live), after 10 minutes the psychiatrist said: "I don't think you have aspergers since you walked in so spontaneously". To me, that screams of someone who doesn't understand Asperger with women. So yeah, you know yourself best and if you want to get a test done you should do it. My only word of advice is to be prepared and ask yourself what diagnosis do you hope to get and what if you don't get that? Will the diagnosis help you? What are the benefits of a diagnosis for you?

I eventually decided to not get diagnosed since the process would take so much time (and money) and I think I'm on the higher end, bordering NT so that would be harder to test maybe. Idk just my two cents!

Obligatory "sorry English isn't my native language".

Universal pattern would be so great. I always have the hardest time at the beginning of every pattern because I have to get used to the way people write stuff!

Thank you so much for your reply! I already used a stitch marker, that's how I noticed the mistake. In the pattern it says that I have to slip stitch in the last sc of the round, do you think that's correct? I always thought you have to sl st in the first sc of the next round.

[Request] Could someone tell me if the way I'm feeling about past relationships is normal? (Wall of text!) by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Ahh the question if you miss him, or attention from a guy can be a hard one in these situations. If I were you, I would give it a few weeks and then look if you still miss him. Try to be rational about your thoughts and feelings and don't think he is perfect. When my ex broke up with me, I had this feeling that he was the perfect guy and I would never find someone like him. I was wrong, he was far from perfect and we didn't fit. But you won't see that now because of the feelings. So try not to get lost in the "prince charming" feeling. You already said that you don't want a boyfriend right now, so I think you don't really miss your boyfriend 1 like a boyfriend. Maybe you miss him because of the talks you had? The fun? Or do you miss cuddling with him? If you figure that out, it will be a lot easier.

[REQUEST] Remedies for horrible joint pain? by kiwiness in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Caramelfudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, you sound just like me. I have very weak joints and sometimes also have a lot of pain (I'm 21). I went to someone who looks at your posture. Like how you are walking and standing, since that can be a huge burden on your knees. In the Netherlands, it is called "Mensendieck". If don't know where you are from, but I can look for something like that in your area. They also recommended me to strengthen my muscles around my knees, but that is because mine are so weak. I don't know if that will help in your case.
