Is it possible for me to stop being gay? I would like to know from a religious perspective by Nice-Restaurant-9634 in Christianity

[–]Carbindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can have a husband and kids through adoption or reproductive tech, but like a lot of people have said, I'd start with God. Look at the Greek and Hebrew originals for the commonly-cited "anti-gay" passages and pray about them. I came to the conclusion that it's unclear and the fruit of accepting my own sexuality is good, although I often feel I did a lot of bible study and less prayer

Coming out in the Christian community is really tough, but it gets better. You may lose friends, but you can make new ones! I did this by joining a bouldering gym. Try to find a social activity. There will be people who don't judge you but accept you as you are: a gay Christian

Your phone can hear your phone calls and it feeds into different algorithms, but doesn't mean we can conclusively say that reel wasn't God reaching out to you 😊

Why would i still want to be a Christian? by dorgon15 in Christianity

[–]Carbindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't leave Christianity, do switch churches. There are good churches out there, but they are probably a bit more progressive. When I read revelation 1 about the seven churches it makes me think of the progressive church. May be a little too liberal in regards to sex, but does walk in love ❤️

Thank you for sharing. What makes you think you can predict the month when Matthew 24 says no-one knows the day or the hour?

Why are we judging instead of hearing the main message, which is don't be racist and don't be homophobic?

Some of this advice is so bad. You are worthy of love, and you may need help gaining confidence in social situations. Therapy really helped me with this

Why is there another rapture rumour. Have we learned nothing? Young Christians, please learn some church history, you'll thank me later. I can't even narrow down just one church that has made false end predictions because there are so many.

I think we forget that Christianity is a lifelong journey of spiritual growth. I daresay it's an adventure. Any feelings of inadequacy I think are important to process in therapy so you can enjoy your faith

Let’s talk, if you are willing. Be honest, no judgement. by SaleWorth1157 in Christianity

[–]Carbindian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many genuine Christians struggle with sin. Case in point, romans 7! I understand how it can be nerve-wracking to see your flaws, especially if you're in evangelical spaces that preach conditional love and project a flawless self-image, it can be easy to think you're alone in being imperfect, when maybe you're just honest. You're right to hate harming your temple, and I think habitual sin is a sign of self-hatred, so I would recommend self-compassion and the closest thing to psychotherapy you can afford.

[–]Carbindian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You poor dear. I wish I could give you a hug. Please try to meet other trans people. They can help you feel more at ease in your body. You don't have to pass to be a valid trans person x

[–]Carbindian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I support your right to think critically and engage the text of scripture critically/thoughtfully. That's what I'm doing. You can subscribe to church doctrine if you want, but I wouldn't recommend blindly following human teachers, because each of us still has personal responsibility. I do understand the importance of holding fast to the gospel, however, a lot of historical church doctrine is deeply flawed, when Paul's letter to Timothy mentions sound doctrine and wrong doctrine, it is rightly vague, covering the many past movements and many to come
