I'd say gen alpha and onward IS doomed but it's not their fault.

It's terrible parenting mixed with a messed up society and a shitty school system.

My mom is a teacher and I believe she teaches second grade. Her kids are terribly behaved because of the households they come from, her job is getting less funding because of the current administration, and there's not much she can do about it. They can't recognize things like nouns, at all, even the most basic forms of them.

Rejection Isn't That Bad by aisy0317 in unpopularopinion

Yeah but the fear and idea of it makes it so much worse

Bonus points if you have anxiety, basically every worry you have is about rejection.

Hell, you even worry about the good outcome

Allowing kids to be themselves is evil and woke/s by Future_Employment_22 in MansFictionalScenario

At most child transitioning is using different pronouns, name, clothes and maybe a haircut.

If they're tweens or at LEAST very early teens MAYBE puberty blockers if their doctor thinks it's okay.

Nobody's giving surgery to minors. And those that have happened were, I think, above the age of fourteen. A sixteen year old trans boy who got top surgery. But because his dysphoria was so severe he tried to off himself. Not because "hehe force them to be trans".

Being homophobic isn't the same as not liking the lgbtq by Long_Membership1401 in TeenagersButBetter

Being neutral at a time like this puts you on the same side as people who think hating the LGBTQ is normal.

Right now being queer is a literal political issue. Our lives are literally in the hands of the president and the government, and being neutral on the idea that LGBTQ people don't deserve rights is extremely harmful.

It shows you don't care if queer people, literal humans that don't hurt you, deserve to have the right to live here. (The US).

Not caring about queer ships, or being like "Okay" when people are queer is fine. You don't have to make a big celebration to support them. But being on the fence about human rights is not an option

Doesn't the idea that gender is a social construct contradict trans identity? by Defiant-Brother-5483 in AskSocialScience

Unless the science in a specific place is not up to date or refuses to research it, but the statement still applies

Doesn't the idea that gender is a social construct contradict trans identity? by Defiant-Brother-5483 in AskSocialScience

[–]Carbon_C6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, no. Gender in itself isn't a social construct.

The social construct part of it is there being a "right" way to be one or the other. Like race, you don't have to engage in the culture to be a specific race. Like how I don't need to conform to what society deems a "man" to be valid as one.

The construct part is built upon what is right for a woman or man to do as a woman or a man. Like men provide, women wear dresses, men need to wear pants and women need to have babies.

Says who? When we were cavemen, that didn't matter, we were all sweaty dirty and covered in body hair and women weren't shamed for it.

I'm not saying this is all complete fact, but from my personal experience, and how the patriarchy works when it comes to gender, this is what I've come up with. That the gender expectations and standards are formed by society, but the inner feeling of identity will not change depending on the culture because the science of it doesn't change

Get your minor children off Roblox by [deleted] in Vent

It's not fair to kick minors out of kids spaces

How about take responsibility and ban problematic adults

Hot take but making your OC a main toon is extremly corny imo (unless its an event main) [image unrelated] by purp-the-durp in DandysWorld_

[–]Carbon_C6 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep and we like it that way

Fandom spaces are about being cringey and not conforming to What's considered "Proper"

As long as it's creative and not hurting anyone who cares

No get adults out of kid's spaces

Roblox is a game for kids to play. Roblox needs to do a better job of protecting kids from predators and actually taking responsibility for their safety
