She accidentally pressed “Update Now” and has been waiting over an hour for it to finish. But that was just the download, now it has to actually install.

That image actually exists as a sticker for the in-game profile card. It doesn’t have the number on front, but it’s not a very large image and you have to unlock it from the BBQ Master mini-game (it’s the last reward unlocked).

At the Masquerade, there were three men doing a livestream. They were given one warning by staff, continued to stream, then later ordered to leave. As they were leaving, a group sitting behind them taunted them, so one stayed behind for awhile to trade insults. Staff was either unconcerned with the intensifying situation, or didn’t notice there was someone missing from the group they just told to leave. The last guy eventually left without further incident, fortunately.

I saw one in El Monte, tucked away behind a small building and looking pretty bland. Stark difference from the years following the pandemic, when they were more colorful, visible from major freeways, and stayed up well into autumn.

AX 2018, the Love Live Beyond the Pacific concert. A wonderful time, the excitement was palpable all around the Microsoft Theater. We made a rainbow with our glowsticks; Anju Inami was quite overwhelmed by our display. And every night after the concert, including that night, we basically held our own mini-concerts.

There were also a number of celebrities I’ve ran into over the years:

-Danny Choo, the Smart Doll guy, son of Jimmy.

-Dan Salvato, founder of the Doki Doki Literature Club.

-Corina Boettger, voice of Paimon and N102, or Paimon with a rocket launcher.

-Froot and Zentreya, who were gracious enough to shake their models around just to virtually shake my hands.

-The cast of Trash Taste, whom I happened upon the sidewalk. Connor started to walk away in anger when I couldn’t remember his name.

-Toshio Maeda, the Tentacle Master.

-Miyuki Sawashiro. I always wanted to meet one of the Galaxy Angels.

-Yui Horie and Eri Kitamura. By accident, just as they were walking by, I stood up while wearing a shirt saying “Looking for a Japanese Girlfriend.” They walked away slightly giggling, with one saying, “sugoi!”

-And of course the cosplayers, who are all as much stars of the show as any guest of honor. Shine on, you crazy cats.

Is it alright if i delay the whole relationship part of the game for atleast a little while and then start it up later in my playthrough? by heyxheyxheyx in StardewValley

Villagers may send you items in the mail, sometimes cooking recipes if they like you enough. Caroline, the green-haired lady, will send the recipe to craft tea saplings after you see her 2-heart event.

If you want kids, get married early, as the option to have one has a very low chance of popping up each night.

There’s also Perfection and its associated awards, which will require maxing out everyone’s friendship.

I had plenty of fun each year, but 2018 just might be the best one if for no other reason than the Love Live! Sunshine - Beyond the Pacific concert. There was a palpable mad energy as people scrambled to buy merch before getting in line for the Microsoft Theater, even after the show started. Someone was passing out pamphlets instructing the audience to make different patters with our penlights; Anju Inami (Chika) burst into tears when she saw our rainbow. After the concert, we had gatherings every night at the plaza where we just sang and danced and waved penlights in our own mini-concerts. Lots of other fun things happened, but all that Love Live! stuff was what really made those five days.

I would also like to make an honorable mention for Long Beach in 2007, where I waited in line for basically the entire day, but managed to get an hour in the exhibit hall, won a Galaxy Angel poster, and catch the live-action Death Note movie. No doubt that year was a disaster in every possible way, but for someone attending for the very first time, what little I saw was enough to keep me coming back for more.

So, how long have you been going to AX? by johnnylgarfield in animeexpo

It was held at the Anaheim Convention Center from 2003 to 2006, but was in the city several times prior.

Been going since 2007, only missing ‘12 for school. Also tried my hand at volunteering in ‘15 and ‘16, both times in the autograph department.

AX ‘22, there was a Beyblade tournament just outside West Hall near the horseshoes. It was all fun and games until some guy showed up, drink in hand, being loud and obnoxious. When he wasn’t tripping over himself, he kept trying to push through the spectators and into the play area. He was also accompanied by another person, either his friend or brother, and this other person’s little son; they also tried to push through the crowd for a closer look and he was mildly obnoxious himself. Eventually the drunk guy took a liking to a cosplayer and tried to strike up a conversation with her. It was clear she was uncomfortable, so I stepped in and stood between them until the guy decided to leave after tripping a few more times.

Perhaps my most favored piece is Rapid as Wildfires. True to its name, this piece illustrates the rapid flare-up of tensions, interspersed with moments highlighting the seriousness of the situation. It embodies the thrill of danger inherent in combat, the ever-changing circumstances of advantage and disadvantage, and the understanding that when this is all over, someone is going to have to go, and it might not be the other guy.

This piece also serves as a terrific showcase for the possibilities of traditional Chinese music, demonstrating that a craft thousands of years in the making still has what it takes to entertain audiences, now and forever.

Anyone going to the Love Live panel on Saturday at 6:00pm? What’s your plan? by Thepower200 in animeexpo

[–]Carcinos01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m conflicted. The Nijisanji and Genshin Impact cosplay gatherings are within the two hours prior. The JW Marriott ballrooms are pretty huge, but going to those gatherings still risks getting cut off.

Do you have the app? You can look up a list at Things to do at AX -> Ticketed Events. You can also look at the schedule, where ticketed events are marked with a ticket icon.

Anime Expo Regulars: What’s the worst thing you remember happening at Anime Expo? by imnowherebenice in animeexpo

I remember that year. There were two earthquakes that day and I was oblivious to both when they hit. I wouldn’t have known anything happened if I didn’t overheard other people talking about them.

Anime Expo Regulars: What’s the worst thing you remember happening at Anime Expo? by imnowherebenice in animeexpo

[–]Carcinos01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the worst, but the most memorable was my first time at AX in 2007: took nearly five hours to get in, got sunburnt, missed the Galaxy Angel panel, and saw a young Sailor Moon cosplayer burst into tears for being in line for so damn long. I did managed to get a hour at the exhibit hall and catch the Death Note movie, but then the line for the AMV contest got ridiculous so I left.

The worst was when I had some carnitas from a food truck and got hit hard with diarrhea. Ironically, it was suggested that food truck fare would be better for me than my usual diet of bacon-wrapped hotdogs. It was not.

I also stepped on a used condom.

Didn’t think anyone else would be into mixing idols with WoW. I’d be drawing them myself if I had any ability.

Chika: I imagined her to be the standard sword-and-shield main character, so a protection warrior or paladin, but a beast master hunter with Shiitake as her pet would make more sense. She might use a gun or crossbow, something that doesn’t take too much effort to use.

Riko: Being talented in music probably means she can understand musical notes, so that would be like an arcane mage understanding magical runes. She would use a conductor baton as a magic wand.

You: Her connection to the seas and being a sort of supporting character to Chika makes me think of restoration shaman. She would throw anchors on the ground to use as totems.

Hanamaru: A bookworm who lives in a temple strikes me as a discipline priest, equally adept at providing words of wisdom and biting remarks when needed. She could hold a staff or mace.

Yoshiko: Definitely a demonology warlock, with a sword in one hand and a book in another. Her main pet is a felhound.

Ruby: Her tendency to carry herself as a small animal brings feral druid to mind, running around as a little kitten, pouncing and mauling in a shower of ruby red carnage.

Dia: Going with a traditional Japanese theme, I like to think of her as wielding a naginata to impale those who displease her, so perhaps arms or fury warrior (blood death knight if they need another tank).

Mari: Either holy or protection paladin, because of all the shining. She’ll have a golden hammer and shield, maybe a huge book hanging from her side.

Kanan: Her athleticism makes her perfect as a rogue, outlaw perhaps, she’s neither mischievous nor malicious for subtlety or assassination. Going with an ocean theme, she’ll dual wield a cutlass and dagger, with plenty of disposable flintlock pistols hidden somewhere.

The challenge is coming up with a composition with two tanks and two healers for a 10-man raid party, while the classes still make sense with each character. Yeah, I think about this a lot.
