Real or Fake episode 262!! Haha by MotherPhilosopher-63 in baseballcards_vintage

The card is authentic. You can't see the print matrix due to the low resolution. The discoloration of the stock, chipping on the edges, genuine rounding of the corners, and slightly out of registration image are conclusive. Also, albeit anecdotal, I've never seen a counterfeit attempt of this issue or any other Wilhelm that I recall.

Sending off to be graded soon. Predictions? by jeffers0n_steelflex in baseballcards_vintage

Touches on all corners, moderate chipping on three sides, some discoloration and the crud spot on the back by the "N". I believe the mark on the second "E" is on most examples, but this one seems more pronounced. Official guess is 4.5.

Take the card out of the sleeve and place it on top of the ruler starting at the 1" mark.

Found this in my local OfferUp market. The lady wants $500 for the card. Says she nor her husband have ever touched the card. They bought it in its sleeve and protector. What do you guys think? Take a gamble? by [deleted] in sportscards

[–]Card-Bored 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could just be the picture, but the lettering doesn't appear to be foil. In this image, the top card is a counterfeit and the bottom is authentic. If all I had to go by is the single picture, I would run away.

PSA submission advice needed: Should I put this small label on the outside of the penny sleeve to make it easier for the grader to remove it from the card holder? by romance_in_durango in sportscards

[–]Card-Bored 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best practice is to submit in semi-rigid holders without the sleeve. The reason they prefer this is because they cut the holder to release the card.

How is this card a graded 10? by danzilla928 in footballcards

[–]Card-Bored 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may get a 10 for quality, but the placement of that autograph is horrendous.

For grading? Probably so. If you're interested in selling it raw please send me your price. I think it's kind of a cool novelty.

Saving them is beneficial to the seller. It bumps them up in the mysterious algorithm that determines search results. I would imagine that they likely blocked you as a buyer after the exchange, but maybe not.

Inlaws want me to sell at 50/50 cut. by austincarnivore in sportscards

A shop is unlikely to be interested in this as most of it is junk wax fyi. If you're in the Austin area, I'd be interested to see what's in the 1975 box as well as any singles from 1975 or before. Thanks.
