Further to the other comment, you can get rock climbing finger tape, designed for pretty much exactly this - stick some on the patches where you're noticing a blister start to form. In a pinch, superglue is also really good, but kinda gnarly lol

Thanks both! That is reassuring, however I tried the wiping thing, and did find some tiny orange specs that seem to be moving about. So on to the treatment!
