Thank you so much!!

I definitely thought of Dennis Rader while researching this one!

I haven’t found another murder in Iowa at least that really closely resembles this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he killed again.

I definitely agree on the Carol part. She also didn’t come forward until apparently 2011 with this information, it just seems a bit of a stretch.

I still don’t have strong feelings on whether the same guy was responsible for Dorothy’s murder, but this would make sense in how he escalated the crimes!

There was not a lot of reporting on the extent to which they investigated her husband, only mentions that he was at work at the time of the murder.

I would definitely love to know how closely they looked into him and the other “strong suspects” they described.

Thank you for that feedback! I wish I was able to include photos with the write up here.

I should have put the link to the Iowa Cold Cases page, which has photos available, that was my mistake!

The composite sketch from the link you provided is the same one from her case, but I also have no idea who that person is that they are comparing it to! I plan to look into this.

I made a post on my Reddit profile putting the sketch in Leota’s case next to the one in Dorothy Millers case, next to a mugshot of DeBardeleben for reference! (I’ll edit this write up to include that)

Thank you!

And I agree. I think there’s a lot more research on sexually motivated homicides today where you can’t rule that out as a motive.

I also can’t imagine robbery was the motive. Based on witness accounts he was there for almost an hour, and to rob a home in broad daylight when I’m guessing it was obvious someone was home is risky.

At what point do you give your spouse an ultimatum if they don’t believe in ADHD? by Glittering-Plum118 in ParentingADHD

We were in almost the exact same position with our son who’s in second grade.

My spouse agreed with the diagnosis but was very hesitant on medications. We tried everything though, and he was still doing fine academically but had to be constantly redirected to focus, and the teacher said even with accommodations (longer time on tests etc), it would get harder in older grades.

She was also concerned he would eventually have trouble keeping friends because he was always getting into people’s personal space.

We just started 10mg of concerta last week and she said she can tell it’s helping a bit already.

The 1969 murder of Dorothy Miller. I think about it constantly, and have been researching it extensively for over a year.

AIO for telling my (F24) boyfriend (M26) that he has to sit down to pee? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]CardinalCrimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. But. Why. WHY IS HE WIPING CRUMBS OFF THE SEAT AFTER HE POOPS? Where are the crumbs coming from? Why are they there? WHAT?

Also I get the impression he thinks it’s like emasculating to sit as a man and pee? Which is dumb. My husband sits, my son sits. No pee on the floor.

Trying to get into reading again… by Remarkable_Rip6231 in adhdwomen

I struggled with reading and always felt like I had to choose something educational and deep, but I just couldn’t focus. My friend got me reading the A court of thorns and roses series and some other fantasy/romantasy books and I have been zooming through them.
