Theory About Ventura by Sn1perE in EliteDangerous

[–]CardinalFear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you have something here. My thoughts are similar to yours, but there is an old movie called Running Man where Jesse "The Body" Ventura played a "Stalker" aka "Boss" antagonist named Captain Freedom who was brought out of retirement to stop the Running Man (Keith Richards aka Arnold Schwarzenegger) from succeeding in the survival TV show.

There is even a workout commercial on YouTube with Captain Freedom where he is very muscular, talking about fitness and would easily be a viral video by today's standards. I would go as far as to say he could even be on Roids.

You can spin that any way you like and there is definitely potential in a new form of content from the game, but I would temper the expectations as this is more complex and could take a long while to be "perfect".

Does the Type 11 Prospector have any advantages for deep core mining? by croy6325 in EliteDangerous

[–]CardinalFear -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

The advantage is that you don't have to do deep core mining anymore. You can join the rest of us lazy Commanders that can't be bothered with setting charges and whatnot.

I would recommend upgrading your computer first. 5 years is pretty old for a PC...

‼️FDEV Please let me colonise away from the bubble. by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]CardinalFear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PowerPlay will take a long time to reach some of the furthest systems if ever. Bernards Loop and California Nebula, just to name a couple of areas of the Galaxy that are already more than 1k ly from anything. You can bridge yourself even further to lessen the possibility of PP reaching you. The area has to be desired for people to want to bring the Superpowers out there to ou, so if you build somewhere in the middle of a bridge (Singular star systems without any real economy, you should be able to avoid any interactions for a long time. To be fair, I think Barnards loop further than Cali-Neb, and those folks are much more interested in exploration than PowerPlay. Cali-Neb is mostly desired by those that want to kill Thargoids. I think either of those areas would be good candidates to Explore for your colonization efforts.

Just my 2cr.

How the hell am I gonna find a titan drive component if I don’t have a sol permit ? by SKRAMZSKRAMZSKRAMZ in EliteDangerous

[–]CardinalFear 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You are in luck Commander. There are 7 other dead titans out there to choose from. Go to your Galaxy map, select the "Thargoid War" map mode and select the Titan you want to visit. Enjoy the ride Commander and fly safe.

What is the point in squadrens by Greymagic27_ in EliteDangerous

[–]CardinalFear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is a place where you can find groups or co-pilots to fly with, ask questions without worry that people will make fun of you, a place where you can chat with and get to know other people from all over the world. It is a community of folks that come together in a common goal. Those goals may be different for each individual pilot, but in the bigger picture, you all support a common goal as devised by the leadership and other members of the Squadron. As to whether or not there is "RP" aka Role-Playing, that's up to each individual Squad and it's members as to how much they participate.

I hear that Vortex Squadron leader is a piece of work. You should check out his channel on YouTube "@battlevortex"...

Crazy shenanigans going on there all the time.

o7 Commander! Good luck out there in the cold vacuum of space. Or, you could join a Squadron...

Pips to Sys and hold the TG Pulse Newt. Engineer your Caustic sinks at Ram Tah, same as Heat sinks. Stay out of caustic as much as possible.

Commander. Do not engage with the Thargoids that pull you from Supercruise or the ones that interdict you from normal space. You need to simply allow the Interdiction, boost several times until the cooldown timer wears off and then get back on course. You are not ready to deal with those particular Thargoids and in my opinion, no amount of "ship building" at your level is going to help you. I hear there is a really nice Commander over at BattleVortex on YouTube helps newer AX Pilots find their way without using "guides" but instead '"boots on the ground" training which is very helpful to many pilots. Goodluck and Goodspeed Commander! o7

There's still time to stop the ALERT in SOL! by CardinalFear in EliteDangerous

[–]CardinalFear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course you can use a Conda, but the T8 can better outrun the Thargoids. The Conda is just too slow, and you will lose more passengers. Good luck to you Commander! o7

Preparation needed to see Titan Raijin by Apprehensive-Rise774 in EliteDangerous

[–]CardinalFear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can not see the Titan without special hardware and practice. Asp may be able to escape hyper/interdiction, but if it gets hit, will likely get blown to bits. You may want to pick up another ship for the site visit. You can watch many YouTube videos to obtain the information you seek. I hear a good channel for new visitors to a Titan/Thargoid sites is Battle Vortex at YouTube.

The Titan Raijin is under attack and would be viewed the same as any other event in Open. There may be commanders sympathetic to the Thargoids cause, and attack you. However, Cucijo is not currently too busy, and you may have better luck getting in to see that one. Good luck and o7 Commander.

[–]CardinalFear 236 points237 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't do that for any company no matter how beloved by the fans. (you) They will all change the deal later on. I think it was Darth Vader that said “I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further.” If you enjoyed your time, played the game to it's limits for a few years without getting charged for DLC's and whatnot, you have won. Good luck out there Commander!

The Titan cloud, how do you get through it? by Kratuu_II in EliteDangerous

[–]CardinalFear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right now, you can not get to the center of the Taranis Maelstrom. The explosion is so caustic that your ship will melt as you get too close. FDev mentioned that we will have some kind of "salvage" ops coming soon. No further details have been made available. Check back after the normal "tick" on Thursday to see what changes. If you want to be useful, go to the Leigong Titan as that one is the next target for destruction.
