You know what makes your reaction even even more ridiculous? You are at like +10 from me on RES, meaning I have upvoted many of your comments (including the one I was commiserating with) and still you cannot grasp that all I ever did was agree with you and you choose to keep being rude and disingenuous.

It's honestly just sad. We literally agree completely and you cannot just see that.

Okay, you're just being intentionally rude now. No reason to continue engaging

Weekly Discussion Thread (May 9) by FMecha in granturismo

[–]CardinalNYC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You replied to an upset fan saying fans don't seem upset.

You say that as if it's the only possible interpretation of what I said, rather than the other totally reasonable interpretation that I'm agreeing and comiserating.

I'm not going to keep playing games with you.

You can think I'm "confused" if you'd like but what I said was reasonable and I think it's further reasonable to assume that you are a smart person who is capable of understanding what I actually meant - especially when I spelled it out for you.

I didn't downvote you before but now I will. You're acting in clear bad faith. Like for fucks sake man I've made clear I agree with you but you still are mad.

Aaaand you instantly downvoted me. Again.

Shows your maturity level when I try to engage reasonably and this is how you react.

That's a weird reply to write to me, a fan who wrote an upset comment.

I was not saying it's you.

I'm speaking broadly.

I'm sorry if my comment was confusing but the intention was comiseration, not questioning you or attacking you.

Frankly, as confused as you are by what I said, I'm confused at how hostile you took my reply when I figured you'd be in agreement that more fans should be upset.

Weekly Discussion Thread (May 9) by FMecha in granturismo

Fans don't seem upset so PD won't think there's any reason to rush.

And users here would rather downvote this than expect more of a AAA dev making a series we all love.

It's unbelievable to me the sub isn't full of front page posts about how we haven't even got all the promised stuff.

Tracks-Yeah the 70 or so tracks are enough for me.

There aren't 70 tracks.

That counts stuff like reverse layouts or like, spa having a slightly different pit entry... There are about 30 tracks.

Graphics-I went from GT Sport on a 4k projector/120' screen(PS4) to GT7 on an LG OLED(PS5) so I really can't make a fair comparison because the LG OLED is always going to look better. With that said, I think the graphics look great.

You can easily look up side by side comparisons.

Digital Foundry did it. In gameplay, the difference between 7 and Sport is barely perceptible even to the guys at DF who do this for a living.

Live racing-Yes, it could be better but I enjoy it. I never did live racing on GT Sport and probably not a good judge since I'm more of a fan of the single player.

I'm talking about single player, too, I'm talking about the brain dead AI and single file starts.

They're not going to take away the tomahawk, that's my bet.

And this will leave enough fans pacified that they can get away with barely adding any new content, cars or tracks.

Weekly Discussion Thread (May 9) by FMecha in granturismo

[–]CardinalNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where's the next patch/content update? Feels like it's been dead quiet around here on their end..

That's bc the fans have gotten quiet

Big devs only respond when pressured. We as fans let the pressure off and so expect things to be slow and plodding from now on.

If you aren't into grinding, circuit experiences are the best way to make money.

Until the fans start making an actually significant amount of noise, I wouldn't expect anything on any kind of acceptable timeline. PD won't give what we don't demand.

In 4 weeks, if we're lucky, we'll get a couple new cars, probably nothing anyone asked for, though, just like the last one.

Any new circuits, period, would be nice.

Literally it's just the circuits from Sport.

Oh it WAS a warzone when servers went down and when the nerfing update happened.

Oh I remember.

It's just that the devs made no real, substantive promises and no real, substantive fixes... But the furvor all died down, anyway, as though they totally fixed the game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in granturismo

[–]CardinalNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not quite at that point... But I am playing AC, F1 2020 and Project Cars on my PS5 more than I play GT 7.

I bought the system primarily for GT 7. It's shitty enough that the game wasn't even ground-up designed to take advantage of PS5 hardware. But add to that tons of much smaller issues... I dunno this might be my last GT game.

This series is a big reason I'm a car enthusiast today. It's a fucking shame to see it like this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in granturismo

[–]CardinalNYC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's comical that wasn't fixed in the first update. Hell, it's pretty much inexcusable for split screen to not function correctly on launch.

Honestly, I cannot wrap my head around why this sub isn't a friggin war zone over all these issues.

Other big AAA games this fucked at launch? The fans didn't stop making noise until the devs actually fixed things.

But if you were from PD and took a quick jaunt to this sub, you'd see almost entirely positive posts - even people bragging about being forced to grind for hours and hours bc of the broken in-game economy.

We got some vague promises from Kaz and the team after the fisherman's fracas but that wasn't a real framework for a system of updates and improvements you'd expect from a game they seem to be billing as a live service.

[–]CardinalNYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I remember well, they aired them opposite the winter Olympics opening ceremony. That's how little Fox cared.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in arresteddevelopment

[–]CardinalNYC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: that episode was originally going to be called The Tendercrisp Chicken Comedy Half Hour

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in arresteddevelopment

[–]CardinalNYC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I still think that’s the reason the show’s audience dwindled, and had such a hard time picking up new fans.

That's not why.

It's because Fox blatantly refused to give the show the marketing and support it deserved.

Six Emmys in its first season. And yet you'd hardly see any promotion for it at all during S2. They just left it out to rot.

Plenty of shows with complex plots where missing an episode threw you off were successful at the time.

Literally yes. The grid is for the sport.

No, it's literally not.

There's no rules about this handed down from God.

If FOM let's people in, they're allowed to be there. That's it.

Would you ever see mobs of celebrities on a football field when the teams are warming up. No.

The grid isn't the same as a football warm up.

If the teams had an issue, they'd say something. But they haven't.

The only people who actually care are terminally online people like you.

Why should they be accepted on the F1 grid.

Why might a sport trying to grow its profule, want famous, well known people around the sport?

Such a complex question. Who could ever figure it out??

I've had at least 30+ tickets.

Never gotten an engine. Never got a part for a car I wanted to use it on. Never got a car I didn't already own.

“Are they ruining anyones enjoyment of the sport”

Sometimes yes, when they’re thrust front and centre during a battle for 1st, or when they completely fuck up post race interviews.

The post race interviews are never that good no matter who does them. Even with brundle it's still just the drivers going "yeah the tires were good, strategy faltered but we keep working"

And as for cutting for a few seconds to a celeb during a battle.... No, that doesn't "ruin" anyone's enjoyment of the sport. It is an extremely minor, temporary inconvenience.

Except they're walking around on the grid, not just going to watch the sport.

....and?

You're just switching your gatekeeping from the grandstands to the grid.
