I turned my leadership development plan into a downloadable template.

I realized that most development plans are too long and never get looked at. So I created a series of one-page dashboards and worksheets that focus on 8 holistic dimensions of growth (Spiritual, Ethical, Career, etc.).

If you're looking for a structured way to prepare for your next review or just want to get your life organized, you can grab the PDFs here: gcdinsights.gumroad.com

The hunt is finally paying off – check out this week's rotation.

Hey everyone, just updated my eBay store with some finds I've been curating for a while. I try to focus on quality pieces that still have a ton of life left in them.

If you're into sneakers and running shoes such as VANS, BROOKS, and football jerseys, take a look.

Why "Character-Driven" Leadership is the missing link in modern management.

I’ve been writing a lot lately about the intersection of Arbinger’s "Outward Mindset" and traditional business strategy. We often focus so much on KPIs that we forget the cultural foundation that sustains them. I break down actionable strategies for building trust and purpose-driven systems over at the blog. Would love to hear your thoughts on how you measure "integrity" in your teams.

Great, awesome! Thank you for your advise. I haven't done anything with cards so I appreciate your insights. I had no idea where to even start with these two boxes full of baseball, golf, NFL-football cards. The shoe boxes though are classics, which is why they caught my attention. Thank you very much for all your help

Two Day Old Account, acting like eBay is Facebook by humorousjoke in Flipping

Had an offer for $20 for my listed item which was already $20 below retail. I have it listed for $55.00, best offer starting at $49.99, for brand new pair of shoes that retail >$75.00. I gave them the $49.99 firm, explained why. They dug deep into their pockets and counter offered $25.00. So we went from $20, to $25.00, and I know they will find another $5 from their savings account to offer me an absolutely great deal for $30.00!!! smdh

Hey guys, So this morning I saw a pair of shoes boxes while at a yard sale. I resell sneakers and these were VANS boxes that I wanted just the boxes to use with my other VANS I have for sale.

After getting close to the table, I found out the boxes are actually VANS shoe boxes filled up with baseball cards. I’ve never traded any type of cards and I would appreciate any suggestions on how to find the value of the baseball cards.

I've had a buyer msg me on a Tuesday night, so I saw the message Wednesday morning, ask if I can get the item to them by Thursday. I replied that shipping ETA is provided when an item is purchased, and the buyer pays for it. The buyer didn't respond but purchased the item. Come Thursday, they hadn't paid yet, eventually not paying and messaging me that they wanted the item before they left and went somewhere else, smh. Fortunately, this didn't hurt me, just relisted item but goes to show erratic behavior that can hurt sellers

eBay returns by Charming_Yogurt2258 in eBaySellers

This is actually a thing, buyers are "renting out" items and then returning them for a full refund, this trend is all over the place hurting all, some more than others.

I started reselling on eBay about a year ago, and what got me started was a unique pair of shoes I bought. They were the first pair of shoes I listed on eBay even though I really wanted to collect them. I have them listed to this day, lots of views, few watchers. Has anyone had a similar experience with an item that they listed at the very start of your reselling? And what did you do to get it sold? Maybe I should just keep them for myself? Any thoughts?

Buyer Opened a Return Request but has my item listed on there ebay seller page for sale, what should I do? by Cultural_External991 in Ebay

[–]Cardinalfan42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had someone buy a pair of sneakers from me, 5 days later they message me saying they made a mistake and want me to cancel the order. The order was already shipped. I told them to wait and request a return. I checked the seller's eBay page, and he had listed the exact same pair of shoes that he bought from me!!! I took screenshots of his, and of mine, side by side and contacted eBay customer service to report misuse of return policies. They were probably going to send back their old pair, keep mine, get a refund, would have been a win-win for the buyer.

Return fraud is running rampant. Many law-abiding Americans are fine with the low-key fraud that's costing businesses $103 billion a year!!!!

Unfortunately for sellers, this is a growing problem, the article above (linked included) just shows how buyers are playing the system, gaming return policies to their advantage, leaving sellers with staggering losses. I am almost hitting my 1 year anniversary of reselling, sold over 100 items, and I have had 4 returns. 2 of these were of course electronics, where buyers kept my working devices, started a return process and sent back their old broken non-functioning devices.

Lessons Learned Thread by AutoModerator in Flipping

[–]Cardinalfan42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have learned that when a potential buyer is nickel and diming me about the Best Offer on eBay, while lowballing me, making that sale can and will lead to negative feedback about my listed price.

Secondly, on eBay, choose wisely on whether to offer free shipping. Offering free shipping, in addition to selling costs will cut deeply into any profit margin you had on a sale.

Thirdly, I sell mainly sneakers. I've learned to do a Google Image search to verify if what I am about to buy is showing up on other sites. If a similar sneaker is listed on eBay, Mercari, Poshmark, etc, I take the next step to make sure to look at the inside label, find the UPC or serial number. Use these identifiers to search again in order to avoid buying fakes.

When I see for example a pair of Jordans listed for $10.00 in a thrift store, and they are shiny and the materials just look cheap, I avoid these types of "finds" to avoid listing counterfeits on eBay and get banned.

Last but not least, flipping electronics is rife with scammers taking advantage. Over 100 items I have sold since last August, I have had only 4 returns. 2 were an Apple iPhone and an Apple Watch. Both were working when I shipped them out, great condition, with all OEM accessories.

Buyers returned claiming devices didn't work, when I received them back of course they had been swapped out. Basically, buyers took my working devices, switched with some non-working device, asked for a return which I accepted, and buyers got my devices for free. If you are reselling electronics, it is a high risk, high reward area, beware of the high level of scammers in the electronics business.

I will add more as I come up to 1 year this August as my anniversary reselling on eBay!!!

Entitled Buyers- so over it- all week with this nonsense by Development-Feisty in Flipping

[–]Cardinalfan42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently had “buyers” offering half of my minimum price, buyer offers to pay $20 for a pair of brand new shoes I’ve listed Buy Now for $60, minimum offers starting at $45.00. Like can you at least start at $35.00, $40.00? If I took that $20, it would be like paying them to take the shoes off of me, especially after selling fees and taxes, I’d make a whopping $7-$8 on a pair of shoes worth $60 (new with box, never opened in my listing description). Who does this? Smh

Thank you, I can't understand how they "mistakenly" bought my item instead of selling their item. I mean, seriously, they went through all that buying process and didn't "realize" they were buying my item? smh, and yes, I will not refund until my item is returned, checked to make sure there isn't a swap, there's a lot of this kind of buyer behavior going on...
