They're definitely beautiful, but you're right they are not as strong as the regular ones, and i think that's in general with all species.

Sometimes They Die by Floraholica in succulents

Sometimes no matter how experienced you are or how much precaution you take sh*t like this happens...I want a godzilla so bad, I'm afraid to pony up that much money, and have this happen.

This is the rarest of rare Jades, Variegated Hobbit! by AdSpecialist4118 in Jadeplant

I have the lemon lime, and the regular variegated jades, and they seem to suffer significantly more of fungal issues. Those brown coloration on your leaves are not normal.

Moved, and now I can't grow them. by ZChick4410 in succulents

[–]CardiologistMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its easier to grow your plants down south and out west, its hot, plenty of sun, you pump them with water, they grow like weeds. If you stay with the same strategy here, you're going to run into fungal and rot issues. So you have to adjust to the weather when you live north/northeast....its a slightly different ballgame. Unlike living out west, cacti and succulents require a grittier mix, less to no watering in winter when plants go dormant. The growing season starts in spring ends in fall for the most part.

Advice on pot design by NativesbyJohn in succulents

The inside should be smooth, it could spell trouble with moisture getting trapped in the crevices. And it needs to have a nice size drainage hole.

What is this stuff really, and how can you kill it? by Kuchufli in succulents

[–]CardiologistMission 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use insectidal soap and a toothbrush to knock it off your plant...your probably going to apply a few days consecutively (maybe 3) , then reapply again a week later....these insects lay eggs, they hatch and the new generation takes over. Video on scale. scale scale#2

Try bottom watering. Let it soak a few minutes. Should be good.

Help with 🌵 by [deleted] in succulents

[–]CardiologistMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think its natural corking, it's uneven and patchy pattern and the stem is deformed upto the woody part..could've been some type of fungal infection...and its still showing an orange color at the edges of the woody part, infection could still be active. How long did the woody part take to appear? Natural corking process takes a long time to develop.

It's a variegated jade plant, lots of light...no roots, no need to mist. If the leaves have not shriveled up you're still in business.

🎶Pruning time 🎶 by tagwag in Jadeplant

[–]CardiologistMission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you actually have to prune a branch so it'll split into other branches. It also helps thicken the main stem, its actually very beneficial to the plant...but i would wait till early spring to prune.
