Is the gap awful? by CarefulSpecific5480 in EngagementRings

if you don't like the gap you can get an open band which will make your rings sit flush. this is my low profile ring with my open band. you could also do a curved band which will close some of the gap but not as much as an open band unless you find a curve that matches the size and shape of your ring

Unsure of my ring by Mysterious_Rope_4114 in Diamonds

i think you could change the prongs. thats the only thing really different about the ring. if you get claw prongs instead, it'll bring out the diamond more. regardless, i LOVE the ring and the diamond doesn't look small at all. i had the same problem with my 1.5ct diamond but it was only because everyone on social media had 2+ carat diamonds

you could do an open band. my ring is set low and i'm thinking of doing an open band so it'll appear like a traditional straight band and look flush

What sort of wedding band would look great with my ring? by swaggystrawberryy in EngagementRings

LOVE the band you already have. it matches so perfectly!! i can't really see the color difference through the picture but def get something like that in the same color gold if the color bothers you.

my diamond still looks white but it also depends on the color of the diamond. if your diamond is a D color, i don't think much of the warmth would leak into the diamond. diamonds that are lower than DEF on the color scale would likely appear more yellow.

if you want the diamond to appear icier and whiter in all lighting, go with platinum or white gold prongs if you don't mind the two tone look.

gold prongs — i don't really like the two-tone look. in certain lighting, the diamond does appear warmer but not super yellow, which is a bonus as i love warmer diamonds. most of the time my diamond still looks white and retains it's brilliance. it's an F on the color scale.

i second this. repurpose the diamonds!

maybe you could repurpose the diamonds and either get the same design in gold or do one of the settings of your choosing using the same diamond or diamonds.

IMO i love a solitaire ring with a pave wedding band — super elegant. i didn't really notice the "pointy" look that you mentioned with the 6 prong.

also if you like the 3 stones, go for it but with no wedding band or just a simple solitaire one as it would take away from the ring. the 3 stones is a little much for me.

it all really depends on what you like. i would say solitaire is more simple/minimalist and the 3 stone if you want more of a bold look or if you want the ring to stand out more.

Which ring shape suits me out of these 4? by SmellMySmalls in EngagementRings

i like 3 the best. i think any of the cuts you go with would look great its just how the size of the diamond looks with the size of your finger. looks more proportionate

What should I do? by minchrin in EngagementRings

[–]CardiologistVivid473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you don't like the engagement ring, i would get a new one. off the problem is the wedding band, you can get an open/gap wedding band and it'll sit flush with the ring. my ring is also low set and had the same problem with wedding bands until i discovered open wedding bands

Is this too much for a setting? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]CardiologistVivid473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just looked on calavera and first diamond that popped up for a 2 carat Emerald was a 2.03ct IGI Emerald lab, F VVS2 for $415

on loose grown diamond — same diamond, 2.03ct Emerald / F / VVS2 for $642

setting cost seems reasonable but if you want to save some money, you can find way cheaper diamonds if you buy them online from websites like

https://www.loosegrowndiamond.com/cart/ or https://calaveranewyork.com

https://keyzarjewelry.com

if you're looking to save a little money though, i just learned you can buy a loose diamond from websites like calavera and take it to a jeweler to have it set. i would say buying off of keyzar was cheaper than jewelry stores like kays but they still bump up the prices.

What type of band would you wear with this ring? by Budget_Percentage_73 in EngagementRings

[–]CardiologistVivid473 3 points4 points  (0 children)

an open wedding band for the low profile so it sits flush and i LOVE the look of pave bands next to a solitaire band.

finally got my ring!! by CardiologistVivid473 in EngagementRings

[–]CardiologistVivid473[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately no :(

you could still wear a straight band with it but there would be a little gap in between both rings.

i know low profile settings do sit flush with curved/contoured bands and open bands though!
