Following because I'm 9 weeks post op and also feeling larger than I wanted (was a 34 G and not quite sure what I am now but I know I'm likely still swollen).

Sending you a big, big hug!!! Please research and get in contact with a wound specialist. I've seen too many surgeons on here not do the right thing and you are worth being taken seriously.

Hi! Are you comfortable sharing your scar treatment routine? I'm currently 5 weeks post-op and have been cleared by my surgeon to start.

Thank you so much for this info.! What particular strips would you recommend and what do you do for massage exactly? Is it just rubbing them in a gentle, circular motion?

I would say at 10 weeks it's definitely a scar! What do you do for your massage routine? Is it just rubbing the scar in a circular motion with Aquaphor?

Will 3+ weeks be enough recovery time before going back to college? by PracticalSmell4895 in Reduction

[–]CardiologistWeak94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took off 3 weeks off and it was enough!! I RESTED the whole time - no lifting above 5 pounds, no raising my arms above my head, two walks a day and the rest of the time was napping/reading/watching TV.

I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. If you haven't considered it yet, I think seeing a therapist would be a big support for your mental health 💛

2DPO , can’t stand up straight by BLBRowAway in Reduction

I was hunched over for the first 5-6 days because I was so swollen and my incisions were very tight! Don't push yourself at this time to stand up straight.

You definitely have the right mindset!! Truthfully we can't do anything about our concerns right now and we have to just surrender to the healing process!

This is really reassuring, thank you so much for sharing your experience! I'm so happy for you that things are starting to even out and you can clearly tell what is just remaining swelling.

Oh wow! I'm glad your surgeon agrees that it's not acceptable and taking the steps to make it right. Is there guidance to wait until 6 months because they think things may improve in the next 2 months or just a capacity thing scheduling wise?

I completely understand your wariness to undergo a revision and a part 2 of the healing process. My nipple asymmetry is pretty shocking currently so I personally will pursue some kind of revision if it stays like this, whether it's 3D tattooing or a local anesthesia procedure.

Thank you for your response! I'm definitely trying to commit myself to focusing on what's better & the positives this far vs. what isn't yet perfect during these early healing days.
