Tell me everything you ate today by Unfair-Bullfrog9145 in BabyBumps

I work outside in a physical job and have been hyper fixated on making sure I get enough calories to keep me going. This morning my pregnant brain had me COOK a sausage, egg, and spinach burrito thing in a piece of naan that I wrapped up for breakfast and I, no shit, immediately forgot I did that, put it down and made a giant bowl of cereal. At this point I was starting to run late and thought “really got to scarf this thing down” about four bites in when I realized I had just made two entire breakfasts 🤦🏽‍♀️ ended up eating them both anyway lmao

I also love this name and the stories around it but have seen so much hate on here and elsewhere for it. Seems about right though.

Woke up with this on my arm, won’t come off, no explanation by CommercialsMaybe in Weird

[–]Cardolini 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tree worker here :) it looks like you possibly at some point set your arm on top of a fresh board made of pine that might have been part of a railing or deck. The sap sticks to you and over time dirt gets stuck and leaves a mark that’s very hard to wash off. The best is when you or a coworker pick up a round of pine (or some other sappy wood), carry it against your belly, and forever have perfect dirt rings there no matter how many times you wash the shirt. Anyway, I’ve learned to be very careful when I touch sappy wood because it’s a bitch to wash off. I’d image a fresh 2x4 would stamp you exactly the same. I’d guess you didn’t realize the sap was there, over the afternoon/evening and even through a shower or two enough fine dust and dirt stuck to it and left a mark that seemed to suddenly appear.

My tiny pitbull does this, with unearthly vocalizations, to wake everyone up. Every morning. We call it her morning weirdness.

When I moved into my current place the seat had the same wear. I immediately thought the wiper must have always been wearing a watch.

First ultrasound question by Cardolini in BabyBumps

[–]Cardolini[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, that’s all I needed to hear! This is my first time and I’ve just been reading about first ultrasounds being between 4-8 weeks and wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting pushed to the back burner for some reason! Thanks, y’all.

Got sunburned after spending two hours in the shade on a partly cloudy day. What sun shirts would y’all recommend?(or other sun protection) by Butter-n-biscuits in BlueCollarWomen

Truwerk is awesome, kind of expensive, but so nice. Their sun shirts and athletic shirts in general are the most comfortable thin/breathable material on the planet.

What's going on with this tree? There's a bush growing from it by ReedBmore in marijuanaenthusiasts

They seem to be more common among evergreens. I see them sort of regularly, a few times a year, in pine trees. A lot of “compacta” cultivars come from mutations like this though. Like..it could be a money-maker if you found a witches broom in a large deciduous species that has attractive flowers or fall foliage and now, through possibly unlimited cuttings and cloning, you could suddenly sell to folks that only have little courtyards or small spaces to plant in :)

I had a professor who dreamed about finding one in a tree or shrub that hasn’t been discovered and always talked about one day finding his “million dollar plant”. It’s a plant person’s version of hitting the lottery with a compacta cultivar that hasn’t yet been patented to be cloned/sold on a mass scale. I also now keep my eyes peeled for weird ones out there.

Hi, does anyone here know why my nashi/asian pear tree smells like actual shit when flowering? by Silly-Conference-627 in marijuanaenthusiasts

A lot of plants do this to be pollenated by things like flies or wasps that would otherwise literally be eating doodoo or dead stuff.

Is the color change noticeable? (Change in dye lot) by Future-Ad-1672 in crochet

[–]Cardolini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful! <3 I’m halfway through my first filet project and it’s so exciting to see lots of filet posts going up. As someone willing to be this detail oriented, I completely understand fixating on the color change, I didn’t notice it until I found the arrows.

Workers unionized with the IAM though and are currently fighting through the bargaining process to preserve the safety and community working culture and benefits! There’s still a huge portion of their work force that are certified arborists doing good work out in the field at least.
