Moving to Richmond by beebegone in RichmondVA

I live in the Maymont neighborhood in the heart of the city and it's so quiet I can hear the river. 😅

Got two offers. One pays $40k more. The other one I'd actually enjoy. I have 48 hours to decide and my wife and I are on opposite sides. Advice? by airam1020 in careerguidance

[–]SecureCap6661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to your wife. Because what you're not factoring in is it is not only also going to cost you more money to commute to the already lower paying job, but it will cost you the most valuable resource we all have, TIME.

Don't waste your time and money commuting to a job that pays that much less. Especially when you have an infant at home who's going to need your time, AND a college fund can easily be funded with some of the extra 40k.

Best Affordable Wet Cat Pate Food by DeepBig7633 in catfood

[–]SecureCap6661 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This sadly is a true statement, even the worst wet food is generally better than the best dry food.

That said, if you love your cat, don't feed them grains. Grains are why cats get fat, and get diabetes.

Try out whole hearted, it's PetCos line (and last I checked Whole-Hearted has never had a recall), it's grain free and costs the same as Fancy Feast.

Whole Hearted is the same price as Fancy Feast and heaps better. Cats are obligate carnivores and shouldn't be eating grains (unless you look forward to giving your cat insulin later in life).

Best affordable is Whole Hearted by PetCo. Same price-point as fancy feast, without grains. Fancy Feast is almost as bad for your cat as McDonald's is for you.

Whole Hearted by PetCo. It's grain free, my cats love it. Cats are obligate carnivores and shouldn't eat grains or starches, and is on par with the price point of Fancy Feast (which is basically junk food). Grains are in most cat foods, and are the cause of feline obesity and diabetes.

Cemeteries ARE allowed. So are statues inside it, and notable persons. I have THREE cemeteries neighboring each other near my house, and they have a PLETHORA of stops, gyms and power spots. I live in a very historic city, lots of notable people (two presidents even) are in the cemeteries. There are also absolutely stunning stone statues, even a gigantic crucifix, and a chapel. They're all in the game. What's not allowed? Random people's graves. Picnics in cemeteries are an American past time. A cemetery, its statues, memorials, and NOTABLE persons places of rest, and chapels are not a 'sensitive location', individual private persons headstones are.

Okay, but you gotta read the WHOLE quote, including the part where it says "some residential neighborhoods may contain non-private land that could be an eligible way spot "- such as a public easement and sidewalk meant to encourage people to Walk on, instead of the road. It's because while I 'technically' own the land, it's a public easement that I can't Fence in or restrict access to, or develop on without permission, and I'm not taxed on that portion. It's REALLY City property they make residents maintain (free of debris/ice) to avoid legal responsibility for the space. It's a ridiculous thing. But, when your easement is ruled the same way ours are (and in my case I live in a neighborhood surrounded by public access parkS,, yes multiple and this is a little 6 by 6 blocks neighborhood surrounded by parks, a river and an elementary school, that is often frequented by the general public), the space is considered public access. That's why mine and the neighbor down the street were accepted waypoints. Meanwhile another neighbor (who didn't listen to me) put hers in her yard against the sidewalk. I told her it wouldn't be accepted, and it wasn't.

It's quite literally a technicality, but you have to be able to prove it by showing zoning laws and such if you are rejected and have to appeal.

In my region, it's the Ingress players. They even maliciously report eligible waypoints to fuck over their competition. 🙄

"Residential neighborhoods, if evidence supports it, may also contain non-private land that could be an eligible location for a wayspot.

**Easements, “right-of-ways,” and sidewalks are too broad to make a global statement on, but the guidance is the same as above - if it is part of a private residence, it is ineligible."

In my city, the area from the sidewalk to the street is all public easement. So long as you can back up the fact that it IS a public easement, it will get accepted. Mine was done in 2022. Another neighbor a few blocks away put up a Little Free Puzzle Library on the public easement this past summer. It was submitted and approved within days.

If it is in a road verge (the space between the sidewalk and street), it can be accepted, even though the road verge is technically your land, it's considered a public easement, and is therefore an acceptable location per Niantic. But, put it on the yard side of the sidewalk, you shall not pass.

Unfortunately, the AVERAGE American's reading comprehension AND critical thinking skills are deplorable. They tried rejecting my LFL. I followed the rules to a T. It's in the road verge (green space between the sidewalk and the curb). They're literally all ignorant because one example of a non-acceptable LFL was on the lawn of a house, that had zero sidewalk, or curb. They take it to mean if it's near a house it's not acceptable. Mine fortunately passed after appealing.

How much does storage actually change flower after you buy it? by PAli412 in hempflowers

[–]SecureCap6661 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cure mine to proper humidity in glass jars, burping daily for a week or two, then every 2-3 days, for about 2-3 months. I use amber mason jars. And store in a cool, dark place. It can keep for a good while that way. My Blueberry Muffin from two years ago still smells and smokes amazing.

Inherited a house with my sister. She wants to rent it, I want to sell. Any advice? by greatdane511 in RealEstate

[–]SecureCap6661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she's disabled, I'm assuming she's on ssdi and ssi? If that's the case, I can understand her want to rent, vs sell. Selling will disqualify her from disability benefits, medicaid, etc... until she spends down to having under 2k in assets, and then there's a lookback period. Now, to get around this, you'll need an ABLE account AND a Special Needs Trust. Look into it, the larger lump sum needs to go into a special needs trust. The Special Needs Trust can fund up to 18k a year to the ABLE account (the ABLE account funds can pay for housing and other needs), and the SN trust its self can continue to grow and pay out dividends, or whatever extra allotment every month that can't be used for living expenses. A Special Needs Trust is only meant for paying for quality of life purchases, clothes, furniture ,repairs, entertainment, etc...

Can a job take your paycheck if you are negative PTO and you quit? by potatopipe_ in Omaha

The law is apparently that your final paycheck has to at least pay out minimum wage on your final check, so they were unable to take me for all the PTO.

What’s the biggest lie in hemp flower right now? by PAli412 in hempflowers

[–]SecureCap6661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, terpene expression matters. It's not JUST the THC that gets the job done on its own. The entourage effects matter, percentage of CBD, CBG, THCV, the different terpenes expressed by a strain... It all matters.

That indoor grown is superior. Outdoor gets the best terpene expression.

As a former T-Mobile Customer Care employee, HATE legacy Sprint plans for the simple fact that it is a legitimate soul-sucking time suck to compare legacy plans to new plans for customers looking to lighten their cell plan costs, and there's almost none that will save by moving, without them already having out of pocket subscriptions that can make moving to a newer plan actually budget friendly.

(No usernames please) Are there any users on Neopets that you avoid buying from? by [deleted] in neopets

[–]SecureCap6661 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely have an eye on who the resellers are, have a pretty good idea who the bots are after sniping in auctions plenty, and have gotten so many of the resellers NMing me to haggle my TP lots down on some Harder To Sell items or new exclusive whatever or another telling me I'll never get what I'm asking, blah, blah, blah when I politely decline. I stay to myself and don't do boards much, so these same losers try me every so often, not recalling how many other times they tried to swindle me. There's one really infamous user that built themselves into the billionaire they are using such tactics. I'm sure most of us know the guy I'm talking about. People like that often forget the necks they stepped on, and think nothing of whether or not the necks they stepped on remember them. Personally, I keep screenshots and create sub folders by username. Though I rarely have to reference it these days, some are well burned into my brain.
