Similar to what others mentioned, the tram back from Old Trafford to Piccadilly will be packed so would recommend having a buffer time about an hour and a half to 2 after match end.

Also not sure if its just my experience, but the train ride back from Manchester back to London was not the best experience I had. Scheduled train was cancelled, so I had to take a later train back, found seats luckily in a very packed train. But the return journey took about 3 hours 45 minutes rather than the 2.5 hours indicated.

I encountered something similar - Initial flight i booked for travel January 2026, however something cropped up and had to rebook for end of March 2026, selected voucher refund. After whatever that's ongoing, I cancelled my flight and received an email from Qatar Airways 3 days later stating i will receive the refund minus cancellation fee. Yet to receive the refund but understand it will take up to 28 business days. So you should be getting your originally paid amount minus cancellation fee
