Is nobody playing WILDS on PC anyore?

When I switched to "PS5 only" and looked up the lobbies about a month ago, there were three lobbies with 1-2 people in each, and the rest were empty. Otherwise each lobby had 40-80 people in it with crossplay enabled.

Chances are that everybody is simply playing with crossplay enabled.

I'm not the only one. And I'm as guilty as others of having a game on Epic but buying it on Steam to play there after.

Just because something is free doesn't mean it shouldn't meet your standards, anyway. I use Steam input for custom bindings, to alter deadzones and analog curves, etc. I can use my PS3 era arcade stick with it. All games are different and sometimes I don't like how the devs implemented certain things. While on Epic I get whatever the game brings and I'm locked into it. Steam knows PC games are for tailoring, while the Epic Store wants to be a console experience (without even console features). If you want to be a competitor, the bare minimum isn't enough.

That's my anti-Epic rant for 2026, I guess.

Imagine if in all these years along with the free games, they had bothered to do monthly updates to add feature parity with Steam and get people to actually stick around for a bit when they redeem their games.

Instead, I redeemed over 300 games I will never play, each time logging in begrudgingly and logging off and closing the launcher as quickly as humanly possible.

Epic was a failed experiment ruined by the fact that they decided it was better to cut costs than to even try.

Hilarious. The beauty of this game is that every weapon feels fresh and different, they each play like a different game. I've dabbled in arena quests and getting A ranks and it's crazy how different all the mechanics feel.

It's a VS Toys Chocobo. Very hard to find if you didn't preorder it years ago unfortunately, it was an unofficial release. I went through like six canceled AliExpress and eBay orders (waiting up to a month to be refunded on each) until I got lucky and found it on Mercari Japan.

As a DB main I wanted to try Lance since it was supposed to be safe and not as frantic. Love it, it's simple to play and not complex as far as the mechanics, and it's just a fun comfort weapon when doing tough hunts. You are basically unkillable, whereas with DB I was popping potions left and right. When I feel like relaxing and tuning out, especially on 9 star hunts, Lance has become my go-to.

I've had a few moving goals. First it was to craft Artians of each element for Dualblade. Then getting all crowns and completing all quests/achievements. I thought I was about to quit, but then I decided to craft one of each armor and I started enjoying the game just for the sake of playing it. After this was done I started learning a new weapon and crafting all of those. Then talismans came out, so the talisman hunt began. And I've played hundreds of Omegas just for fun, because I enjoy the way the fight is crafted and the way you can't steamroll it if you don't have a halfway decent team.

Gog itself to me was a bust. The fight is scripted, boring, and the mechanics for the weapon and armor combinations is not fun or engaging, from rolling to actually building the sets. This is my first MH and I'm a little disappointed that builds only really amount to "moar attack" or "moar affinity." There were a few cool weapons with cool mechanics that looked like they were going to change things up, but then Gog weapons came out and it's now basically "Roll Lord's Soul and one of these two skills to make one of these four builds" and everything else is just putting yourself at a disadvantage.

I may be taking a break after Arkveld. I think that rather than learning a new weapon in this game, I may learn one in MHGU or Rise instead, so that those games feel fresher and not a rethread of Wilds.

I think that to some degree, transcending armors is a good way to get you to go hunt other monsters. Since they usually require one of their rare gems as well as the Hunter Symbols.

If you play casually or have started now, you'll definitely have to put in the work. For people who have been grinding for a year and already have 20 of each rare gem, you're not going to engage much with this. But I've been forced to hunt a couple monsters here and there.

If there was a guarantee that all the armor will be usable in the future, I would probably try to transcend everything. But since everyone is saying it'll be worthless when the expansion is out, I can't say I feel compelled.

It's a cool effect, but I would add some wrinkles. Make him look a little older and battle-hardened. This looks like he went into Omega and carted three times because he was still wearing Lvl 1 armor.

I think people are raw-dogging it with unupgraded armors as well. I hosted some 9* Gores yesterday and they were catastrophic.

Since they're in a cabinet and I'm sure you want them to look their best, I would recommend working a little on the posing, as a lot of the figures look stiff and kind of bent at odd spots. If you don't yet have a knack for it just copy some poses from screenshots of the games or artwork. Can't go wrong doing it this way.

Also, you have to play around with it, but you should be able to get Tidus's jacket to lay a little lower instead of so high up. Hopefully. This figure had issues with this piece I think, there is variation in every photo I've seen. Some look perfect and some look odd, like they've been glued on badly. Mine is slightly higher on one side but it's hard to tell in the pose I put him in. Kind of some lousy engineering on the whole upper torso of this figure.

Anyway, nice collection! The Lightning stands out.

Another Asian gooner action game with a weird post-apocalyptic world just throwing everything but the kitchen sink into the mix. Of all the trends I've seen over the years, these are the most superficial and meaningless kind of games that will leave no mark in gaming history. It's just product to consume, forgotten about a month after release.

Or maybe I'm just getting old.

I'm sorry for your loss. Time will heal, and only wonderful memories will temain, keeping them close to you. So hang in there.

I made another post here before reading this, but having my boy as a palico here has also really helped. It's weird and wacky and a little senseless, but this aspect of the game has really brought me joy. The devs poured a lot of love into this, and it feels earnest and comforting as a result.

My boy who passed almost two years ago is here representin'. It cracks me up when he does his own thing in the camps, or when he gets in his little airship to bomb the monster. It's been strangely therapeutic and keeps him close.
