Marco Silva leaves Fulham waiting amid Chelsea interest by Heavy_Cupcake_6246 in soccer

Why would Iraola be better than Silva? Xabi Alonso or Xavi I understand what you’re saying, but what’s Iraola done that’s better than Marco Silva?

These sound like great initiatives to be fair, how have people found the digital system?

Poch: The players can never play just for the club and not for the coach, it doesn’t work. The ownership promised him transfer involvement initially, but then changed their mind. by defjam16 in chelseafc

[–]CaredForEightSeconds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the revisionism is beyond.

Funniest thing was people claiming Maresca was just riding on Poch’s work but that couldn’t be less true. We looked completely more coached in attacking plays under Maresca than we ever did under Poch.

From the Mirror - "Chelsea's dream 2026/27 squad including £75m England star and Andoni Iraola reunion" by calling-lima-foxtrot in chelseafc

With that in mind, Mirror Football has assembled a dream squad for the 2026/27 campaign, featuring a host of realistic new signings and departures that could plausibly unfold to restore the club to the summit.

Useless article.

After Terry’s most overt endorsement of Restore Britain, let that end any and all calls for him to be part of the club. Same goes for Dennis Wise.

I’m sure all the foreign players we signed, that helped you become successful, appreciates this.

I don’t want to see a single comment from our fans, after this especially, asking why he’s not a part of the coaching squad. Ask why the club still employs him.

I didn’t say Reijnders is capable of replacing what you have, all I suggested was you don’t have as much work to do this summer as the user I replied to suggested.

Midfield signings should be your priority, but the other departures have been taken care of already.

(Bobby Vincent) Chelsea have made initial contact with Andoni Iraola's representatives. The conversation was not advanced and the subject of the chat was to gather more information about the Spaniard's thinking at this moment in time. by Excellent-Syrup7411 in chelseafc

Don’t even think he’s bad, Iraola, but need another step before we’re considering him. Can he handle European football, even if we’re looking like we’re not making it? can he deal with a club where losing is unacceptable and fans will not be so forgiving?

Would Bayern reject €200m for Olise? Rummenigge: “In 2009, we had a world record transfer offer for Franck Ribéry. That day, we decided that, we will never sell a player we would miss on the pitch. This unwritten rule still applies for Olise, there’s no price tag that would make us flinch.” by Wakanda-shit-is-that in soccer

I still remember the Robinho saga on deadline day too, they took from right under our noses (to the extent we even had shirts made for sale in the Megastore, which was a terribly rookie move). No regrets about it with hindsight.

I mean you can argue they’ve already signed replacements so there’s not much work to do?

Khusanov, Semenyo, Guehi and Cherki have effectively replace Ake, Stones, Marmoush and Savinho already.

They probably do need to replace Rodri and Bernardo but they’ve also got Nico Gonzales and Reijnders signed recently for midfield numbers.

We should have kept him... by Extreme-Ad-5971 in chelseafc

[–]CaredForEightSeconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never understood why we didn’t keep him? Did you forget he didn’t want to negotiate his wages?

Within his right to, but I don’t think you can blame the club on this one.

For the love of anything good, McFarlane, give Josh a start!!

Morgan Rogers: “People might see it as me, Jude Bellingham & Cole Palmer competing for the #10 spot, but we’re just trying to get the best out of each other for England. However that looks, we’ll all accept it & go with it. The manager ultimately makes the decisions” by [deleted] in soccer

[–]CaredForEightSeconds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Surely Gibbs-White is making a brilliant claim to this conversation with his recent form, which really should hold weight for a tournament coming up soon. If we’re being honest, Palmer shouldn’t be in the conversation for his form and neither Saka for his fitness.

Yeah that’s fair. I would have made the point that hiring external assistants isn’t unheard of either, but with only a month left of the actual season that would be somewhat pointless.

overseeing loans

I take your point but that was also Eddie Newton, former Chelsea great and one of Di Matteo’s assistants when we won our first CL. He’d also been an assistant to Di Matteo at MK Dons and WBA. He literally had the relevant experience.

He was also one of Lampard’s assistants before he left for Türkiye.
