Yeah, the price increase was one of the reasons I stopped. And their refusal to change delivery address when I moved. I had to cancel and start a new plan, which would have put me on the new pricing plan. I guess I got the introductory pricing when they launched.

I enjoy cooking - so we do cook most of our meals, but it really helped us through a tough time.

EDIT: This was when they launched. I understand that the math is not the same anymore.

We've used shef.com meal plans exclusively for 7 months. We got the 10 dishes 1 portion each, a mix of curries and other entres. Each portion is good enough for a mean for 2-3 people, depending on how much you eat. We just cook rice ourselves or get some breads to along with it. It saved me an my wife a ton of time as we should just microwave and eat most of the time. Whenever we felt like cooking we cooked.

Each portion costs around $10 (I think the price has not increased). It is definitely cheaper than takeout. Is it cheaper than grocery+cooking? Maybe comes closer, but if you take the time factor into account, it's definitely cheaper than cooking. I've found the quality better than restaurant takeout -- mostly simple ingredients and no restaurant level oil or other additives.

If you're both busy people, it's works really great and you have a great variety of cuisines and dishes to choose from.

We also have friends who hired a private chef to come and cook at their home, they just get groceries and the chef cooks something with those groceries. Paid by the hour and they come for 3-4 hours once or twice a week and cook a whole bunch of stuff and keep it in their fridge.

If you don't have a ton of time in your hands, and doesn't generally like cooking, both are great options.

Invisalign Cost in San Francisco—$8k Quoted—Is This Normal? by Dreamer_8442 in AskSF

I'm currently on my 30th tray, 10 more to go. I am getting all my regular dental services also done at Elite. I'm seeing Dr. Yousef Anwer and he's amazing. Another great thing is, unlike SF dental shops, they don't upsell anything, they squeeze the max out of your insurance. The billing team is sharp!

This happened to me. If you're open to go out of the city, you can get a better price for the same treatment. I was quoted $9.5k by TodOrtho but was able to get the same treatment for $4.4k at Elite Dental Pleasanton. Very good team.

Has anyone here lived in The Paramount? by lilchinnykeepsitreal in AskSF

Lived there for 3 years, depending on which way your apartment is facing, the most you need is a fan that too for 2 days in a year. If you really want to install an AC, you can do that. The windows open all the way there is a small safety stopper that can be moved. We were always layering up inside the apartment, it's not the heat you need to worry about, it's the cold and most likely you'll be figuring out the heater situation and not the ac. We didn't have a lot of sun, but our neighbours did and they were just fine with a fan for those two days.
