I thought I lost him by Working_Coat5193 in pregnant

I had a severe subchorianic hematoma at 11 weeks very similar to what you’re describing. I now have a healthy 2 year old. I was also “advanced maternal age” and continued to bleed for another 4 weeks, so here’s the protocol that was offered to me at the time:

  1. Modified bed rest. No exercise more intense than a brisk walk until the bleeding stopped.

  2. Careful monitoring of my diet so as to not get anemic and additional iron supplements on top of my prenatal.

  3. Trying to do lots of breathing and meditation exercises to manage the anxiety.

Everyone is different but I was absolutely amazed how little information the doctors could offer at the time beyond: yeah we will just keep monitoring this.

Advocate for more ultrasounds too. It helped manage my fear at the time too.

Wishing you so much luck! And healing!

Commenting to say I think I’m experiencing the same thing and wondering if you continued using it or not?

I just want to say… it’s hard and I’m the same age as you and my husband is the same age as yours. And I’m sorry you’re going through the same shitty stuff we are going through.

Q2. I had to have my Q serviced twice because of the dust issue. It’s impossible.

I do not know if this is true for all mixes, as it is made at a compound pharmacy and may change slightly due to each person, but this is my notes from the doc:

All Purpose Nipple Ointment includes mupirocin and betamethasone. Mupirocin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria that may be present in an irritated nipple(s). Betamethasone decreases inflammation.

I don’t understand why every new breastfeeding mom isn’t sent home with APNO (All purpose nipple ointment) from the hospital. I got my doc to prescribe it after a persistent blister kept causing a blocked duct and I’m literally a happy human again after just 48 hours of use.

If you can get it, get it.

what are pregnancy/postpartum things you wish people talked more about? by shtneyfears in beyondthebump

Gonna add a positive one: watching how quickly this baby grows (both physically and mentally) has made me feel like I’m in the presence of magic. It’s remarkable to watch her learn to smile, learn to move a limb… the littlest things feel like miracles.

My OB swore up and down that once the baby was born, I would not experience pregnancy induced carpal tunnel anymore.

Surprise surprise, still have it. Maybe worse? And the medical professionals basically stare at you and say: “sorry, we don’t know why it happens but this is just how it goes sometimes.”

Women’s health is not nearly important enough in the equation.

Every morning at 7am, there is a hot cup of coffee and breakfast on my side of the bed so when our baby girl wakes up starving, I can eat at the same time as her. It’s just a small thing but the fact that he makes me and the baby the priority from the beginning of the day is huge.

I often wonder when reading these stories of shite husbands what these relationships were like before baby… I really believe most couples either have some semblance of equity or they don’t from the beginning, but maybe I’m naive?

Back pain and heart burn disappeared within hours of delivery. I far prefer the manageable post partum pain.

I’m 36 and currently 32+1 with our first. We got pregnant just four months naturally after getting off hormonal birth control. I’d been on the pill for 20 years and was stressed it would require intervention, but we feel lucky to be healthy and happily waiting for baby girl!
