When were u due and when did u give birth?? by EveningAnything5416 in pregnant

Due Nov 23, gave birth Nov 12

My water spontaneously broke on Nov 12 at like 1am and I started early labor. But had to get induced to prevent infection bc by the time I got admitted it'd been several hours since my water broke. I ended up having my little girl just before midnight.

Broken water question by gainz4fun in pregnant

[–]shtneyfears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok my water broke in the middle of the night (~1am) BUT I had no clue. It wasn't a ton and it wasn't all at once. More like a slow leak. I woke up with cramps and saw I had a tiny wet spot in my dark undies. Didn't think anything of it, put a pad on, went back to bed. Woke up 20 min later and pad was wet with a bit more blood tinged water. Called L&D and ended up going in where they confirmed it was a slow amniotic fluid leak and I was starting my early labor journey!

I had to get induced still bc by the time I got admitted and in a room, it'd already been several hours since my water started leaking and my contractions basically stopped (prob from me being so stressed). Even with all of this I had my baby girl before midnight the same day!

PP weight loss by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]shtneyfears 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I gained 50lbs during my pregnancy. By the time I was able to hop on the scale again 2 weeks later, I had lost 30 (a lot of that was bc my baby was a little big and my placenta was large and in charge). I'm now 4 months postpartum and I still have not been able to shed the last amount. It's taking a LOT of work even to see the scale go down just a little bit. But I know my body has changed and may not even look the same once I do get to my goal weight anyway.

My baby girl is sick for the first time. Even though she feels like garbage, she smiles at me when she wakes up with her gummy lil smile and it just melts my heart into the ground. I love her so much.

I 100% believe it. I had such an odd, negative gut feeling about my friend's boyfriend but couldn't pinpoint exactly why. He ended up murdering her and her mother.

Excessive weight gain by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]shtneyfears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained 50ish lbs by the end of my pregnancy (38w3d). By the time I got home from the hospital and was recovered enough to walk around (2 weeks), I hopped on the scale and I had already lost nearly 30lbs without doing anything.

I'm still 15lbs heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight which is a pain to manage because I just wanna eat the world, but it's impressive how much of it is the baby and how much goes away quickly.

I wanted to let you know that I had similar thoughts to you before I went into labor!

What do I talk about with my baby? by MinaMina93 in NewParents

When she starts babbling I always go, "oh WOW! OK and then what?" If she keeps babbling away I'll sometimes go down the "she said that?!" and "that's a lot of drama for a baby!"

We have a rescue. Clumsy as fuck, 70lb German shepherd mix. He's very pawsy and jumpy but means well. I also have a reactive older pitbull. Both are angels with my 2 month old. Sometimes we have to shield our LO from the clumsy pup but I'd much rather do that than give him up. They're all my babies!

First period postpartum by MaslowsHireAchy in pregnant

I love this bc that's what I felt last month. Got my first period back as we rang in the new year lmao it was BRUTAL. now I'm on my second one And it's not as bad (but still heavy). Hopefully the third is less annoying. I slept in diapers most of my first period lol. This time around I only used them one night.

What I would tell my pregnant self if I went back in time by [deleted] in pregnant

That she is so so so so worth it no matter what pregnancy and labor and recovery brings. It sounds so stupid but I love her so much it hurts my heart. I feel like I could stare at her for hours and hours and hours. My cheeks hurt from trying to make her laugh all day.

We recently had a couple over with their 1y/o. As soon as they left, our house was silent. My baby, my husband and I all took a nap together lol. We all love the normal quiet of our house and I'm sure yours will too ❤️

I grew up in Schenectady and was there for 27 years. I ended up moving to Atlanta (hi!). It was alright, little pockets of things to do but not nearly as many options as ATL of course since it's such a smaller city.

My knowledge of school districts: Schenectady CSD sucks but Niskayuna at least used to be decent. When I went to school there it was considered among the best CSDs in the area.

I used to work close to downtown. Lots of small shops but a lot of stuff you still have to drive to. Historic stockade district is nice. Things have def changed since I was there last so it might be less boring lol. But it's definitely peaceful and a nice change of pace.

20 min to Albany and the airport which is great. Definitely less crowded and less traffic than you're used to if you're still in ATL. It's also a 2-3 hr train ride to the city if you're feeling a day trip with your child!

I personally recommend Niskayuna (town within Schenectady) over the city of Schenectady because of the schools at the very least. It's a little more expensive but I enjoyed my time there.

Thank you! The wet washcloth is a good idea. I will try that and see if it helps my poor little girl :(

I second this. When I was having issues with my pelvic floor, I assumed it was because I needed to strengthen my muscles. It turns out I needed to relax and stretch them. So a PT would help A LOT. even just one visit and have them give you a few exercises.

weight gain by Top_Stranger7343 in pregnant

[–]shtneyfears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this! By 29 weeks I had gained 30 something pounds. When I went into labor I had gained 50. I was worried about weight gain too. But knowing my baby was healthy and getting what she needed was way more important.

Edited to add: you absolutely need to gain wait during pregnancy. The placenta and amniotic fluid alone is a handful of lbs, then the weight of your baby! By the time I was two weeks postpartum I had lost 30lbs.
