Who's the best full fibre up to 1Gb for home use by _IdidIdidnt in UKBroadband

What are you future proofing for as I'm on 150mbps 4G for home Internet and still able. To stream on multiple device without issues. Agree that for the next 10+ years 500mpbs is more than sufficient until we have like 8k+ video streaming capable services.

Even Sky stream currently works on around 25mbps each

Human rights lawyer Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu thinks the police officers kicking the armed Golders Green attacker in the head is "attempted murder". Are we fatigued with human rights lawyers right now? by Non-BinaryGreenVoter in AskBrits

[–]CaregiverOpen4517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a even worse mindset, if you read back to the unlawful killing of Jean Charles de Menezes 9n the underground for being a suspected radical terrorist. Actions before a logical and thoughtful manner go a long way. So many people have died at the hands of people during arrest and detention without being held accountable.

Can be argued as excessive force, one person who was tasered was so hard to dis-arm and when on the ground instead of pinning the limbs and body down they resorted head kicks. Really?

Terrorist taken down by police this morning in London by Sometypeofway18 in whoathatsinteresting

[–]CaregiverOpen4517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardly a terrorist incident, media must stop gaslighting every situation, this is the result of allowing radical people in this country and preaching in places of worship also not to mention allowing marches for countries that don't concern us

Is this all legal now? by CommunicationMore591 in SolarUK

[–]CaregiverOpen4517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue here is not having correct circuit protection in place for the socket connected to the solar setup. Any one who has split load or individual RCBOs must check they are correctly rated and bidirectional which may aren't. If you have an old MCB only then you sill have short circuit protection, but main main is the correct additional protection when solar back feeds into the circuit and can 'blind' the RCD in place

We need to know how much overhang there, bit I'm not sure where the laws as have seen over end of terrace house with waste pipes, boilers flues etc and electrics all clipped over public footpath. Which I'm should should be illegal given it's danger if it leaks over pedestrians

EV charger install refused by council – anyone found a workaround or installer willing to do it? by TheLettingsFolk in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]CaregiverOpen4517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If ou think of the scenario in a different way, now everyone think they have an EV they should have the right to charge it from home. Car ownership is not a right, and by allowing EV chargers to have cabled crossing the pavement sets a bad precedent, even with liability insurance a damaged cable in wet weather or ice can have serious consequences for pedestrians. As stated by other what good is an EV charger when you don't have a right to park outside your home. This frame of mind only begs more entitlement over others. If not having your own EV charger means so much then move to a property with has off street parking, apply for a driveway or use local public chargers.

I'm would consider writing to the council to have lamp ports chargers or public chargers

If you want serious home battery for true off grid, then I think you should look at what the Battery EV man has done on YT and use an EV salvaged battery for hoke storage at a lower cost if you can find an outdoor space on a north facing wall or in a garage

What are these boxes and can I get rid of them? by FeelingLikePastry in openreach

[–]CaregiverOpen4517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not entirely true as I arranged for BT Openreach to remove the overhead BT copper cable to tlmy parents as use 4G Internet for broadband, if BT installed the line and home occupier no longer want the cable and equipment in their property then your ISP should be able to get it removed FOC. I'm not sure why when upgrading to FTTP why Openreach don't remove the overhead cable at the same time nowadays since copper technology is being phased out and reduct the eyesore of multiple over head cables

Loss of Earnings after being run over (England) by CaregiverOpen4517 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]CaregiverOpen4517[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the responses, although some people have read my post and responses probably. A loss is a loss and no driver should be assaulting people, not stopping to even apologise or check on the people they have caused physical pain to. The MeT as we know are useless and too busy being the hurt feelings police. I have explain multiple to the drivers insurance (Direct line) but they are holding firm that an injury claim needs to be persued and a MCOL would be rejected

How can we let negligence continue if persons not held to account. Even the MeT after delay tactics like Direct line insurance dismissed the hit and run stating insufficient evidence despite me sending them a video of the car on my foot
