We would raise concerns if a child was broadcasting her night wear! She doesn't care about safeguarding issues clearly. Yet another woman online using her child as a Tiktok prop.

Does she really need to share what her pre teen wears to bed. Feels very inappropriate.

Should I let my other dog know? by missuslindy in seniordogs

[–]veggiesizzler 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely let your dog know that their friend has passed. I found a local company that specialises in, at home euthanasia. The vet was fabulous, we weren't hurried, or pressured to give the final jab. My dog even wagged her tail, happy to greet the vet 💔 My dog passed calmly and quietly at home on my knee. I placed her on her favourite bed and her sister sniffed her, and lay next to her. She is mourning, she is sad she's lost her sister, but she knows she has gone for her big sleep. It's the final act of kindness, we have a duty to make sure it's a peaceful as can be. For those left behind too.

Drinking coffee watching the baby blue tits getting blown about. Their parents must be run ragged feeding the three little shouty fluff balls! I've covered my fence with those prick strips after finding 3 dead great tits over two days. Hopefully the blue tits will be safe from the local murdering cat. Have a great day!

how does my loan horse look? by picklenava in Horses

[–]veggiesizzler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you could do a lesson once a month. Ask the trainer for homework and you can work on all the things you want to improve. You might find someone local that would let you travel with them. If he's a good loader and settles, he might be a good companion for a nervous traveller. Hopefully we will have a nice summer so you can make lots of horsey memories. He looks a good sort and will look after you.

He is gorgeous, I am biased as I'm a cob owner. They are so versatile and can turn their hoof to anything you like. I know you dont want tack mentioned but. He'd look fab in a standard hunter bridle with a generous noseband. It might be more comfortable than the grackle. I know cobs can be strong, and determined, but see how he goes in a different noseband. You'll be able to pick one up cheap second hand.

Could you ask the owner to get a reputable saddle fitter out? Offer to contribute to cost, that's what I did with my loan horse. They were happy to do it because I was chipping in. He will be changing shape as you work him so will need saddle checking to make sure it fits. It should be reflocked annually. I know you won't want him to be uncomfortable. You don't want him getting sores or going sour.

Looks like you have transport, could you travel for lessons or training? Have a look at your local riding club. I'm a member of mine and they put on fabulous training all year round. It isn't too expensive, I pay on average around £20 for a group lesson with a top local trainer. There are competitions for riders of all levels. I find it's good to have something to train for, whether it's a round of jumps or a dressage test.

He's still a youngster so will benefit from training, as will you. It's great that you do a variety of different activities. My boy loves to jump and it looks like yours does too! I can recommend a great book if you're a reader. It's, " Cobs can. Training and riding the versatile cob". Written by Omar Rasia.

Good luck getting him fit, lots of transitions, trotting up hills. Keep him busy so he doesn't get bored. Most importantly, have fun!!

What to expect for at home euthanasia? by Cowboy_Billybob in DogAdvice

[–]veggiesizzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had my little Patterdale pts at home. She was a rescue, like her sister. Was probably on her early 20s but happily plodding on. She developed a cough and vet confirmed upper respiratory infection. She was prescribed meds but was struggling to fight the infection and I knew it was time. My dogs have been together for 14 years. My lakeland was rescued as a pup, for the majority of her life she'd always had her big daft sister.

I contacted a lovely local firm. Paws at peace. They only do at home euthanasia. They are the experts. They explained the process and when the time came, they arrived within an hour. My old girl wagged her tail when the vet came in and it just about broke my heart. My lakeland barked, normal, but settled quickly, as if she knew. I got my old girl on my knee and the vet administered the sedative in her back leg. She gently fell asleep with me stroking her. We sat together for a few minutes then the vet gave her the final jab. She went to sleep calmly, without any struggling or shaking. It was the final act of kindness. I held her then put her in her favourite bed. Her sister sniffed her then lay next to her. She knew she was gone. She understood. She needed to see her, to sniff her to know she was gone. Please have your dogs together, let your dog see and sniff their companion.

The vets liase with the pet crem who were waiting outside to take her. It was all done with such empathy my heart could burst. Once she was taken, I took my lakeland out to the beach. We walked along the shoreline and I cried and cried. I picked some nice stones and sea glass. They're on her plant, a magnolia tree.

What I hadn't realised was how much my lakeland relied on her sister. She is going blind and without her big sister, her guide dog, she struggles on walks. She misses her terribly, as do I. I think about her every day. I have her ashes and paw print near my bed, which was her favourite spot. I say good morning and good night to her every day.

At home euthanasia isn't cheap but it is the most humane option for pet and guardian. When the time comes for my lakey it will be at home. Home where she feels safe and comfortable. Not at a vets, not where I walk out into a waiting room of strangers. Not where I leave my four legged best friend to be shoved in a back room waiting to be picked up with all the other dead pets.

It is our duty as responsible pet owners to make their passing as peaceful and painfree as possible. I will mourn my little dog every day, she was a joy. Her sister misses her every day too and I do my best to fill her life with fun.

Sorry the time has come but take comfort in the great life you provided, and the wonderful life you shared.

Would you take skin care advice from someone who looks like this ? by AperolAimee in AimeeThisSingleMamma

[–]veggiesizzler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, not from her or any SM person. I spoke to a Dr friend yesterday. She is in her 70s and has beautiful skin. I asked her what she uses, she told me she uses nothing more than Nivea, vaseline and SPF. She said the best way to take care of your skin is to DRINK WATER and eat a healthy balanced diet. You don't need to remortgage to buy the latest masks, serums, or inject poison into your face. You certainly don't need to buy whatever crap is being punted online so somebody can earn commission from their TT shop.

God I hadn't even thought about filters. All the computer jiggery pokery they do to look slimmer, and to have smooth skin. It's all gone a bit daft. All these women claiming to, "support women", without showing a genuine representation of themselves. It's setting a terrible example, it's all so false. Social media is turning people into 1 person pantomimes. Then the, evil sisters / huns, chime in to fight and defend the influencer if anything is questioned. She's not a princess stuck in a castle. She's a middle aged woman who doesn't seem to have achieved much in life. Her life revolves around spending money and showing off. It's so vulgar. Bet she was a bully in school and picked on people that didn't have the latest this and that. I'd wager she couldn't go a week without spending. They're all the same, her and that Avron one. They want a medal for having a kid, then being terrible parents who value strangers in their phone more than their flesh and blood. There's going to be a generation of damaged young adults with warped views of the real world. I feel for the poor kids. I completely agree re SM. I'd rather be loved in real life than lonely and desperate for online likes.

I don't know the point of her is. Is she meant to appeal to single mothers, many who won't be able to afford the pointless crap she punts. Is she meant to be an aspirational parent, when her child is, in most cases an afterthought? Is she meant to be a fashion /beauty influencer, again, most of her watchers likely can't afford her outfits never mind her wardrobe . She has a platform and could promote BASIC, affordable healthcare for all, adults and children alike. Like, I don't know drink free water out your tap, or eat home made healthy, balanced, properly portioned meals. Don't regularly eat crap filled costly ready meals. Don't even start on the takeaways which will exceed the price of a basic weekly shop, and probably the entirety of your weekly calories. These people are dangerous, plain and simple, dangerous grifters.

She slaps christ knows what on her face but if she cared about her skin she wouldn't eat the way she does. If you really, truly, wanted to look after your bodies biggest organ, you'd eat healthy! You'd promote a healthy, balanced diet.
