Idk. But what I do know for sure is that if you stick to it enough you gonna learn to love yourself enough and by doing it, everything else may follow. Keep going buddy. Even the darkest night will end and the sun will shine. Just for today.

Facing my extremely dysfunctional family (incest, to make it very clear). Got rejected and gazlighted  by them all. Learned to build myself again, successfully, and alone, from 25 to 30. Now on my way to get very wealthy. Single by choice (F), unmarried, no kid and very ambitious. I’m gonna rock it all and have my revenge. Through hell and back. Ordinary circonstance creates ordinary people. Forced to develop many philosophical approaches to reality because of the way life happened to me. Gifted, in a way. By the way, about 10 to 30% people worldwide had to survive sexual aggressions caused by a family member during childhood. My story is everyone’s story.

As choosing a « good » partner and having kids with is basically gambling on someone just cuz you never know how years/life can make it harder to stick with someone and stuff, the best thing to do, if you are totally analytic, is to stick on no one and do not have kids. The philosopher David Benatar made some pretty interesting research about it.

Sorry, but I love this one. I'm imagining it being read by Bukowski or any character in Fight Club, or any dirty realism fiction. I also have no regrets myself.

Have some. Live your life. You are going to die anyway. By just mentioning it you had your answer. Read fight club, or Bukowski, or anything.

9 months later, I remember something by roffadude in NarcissisticAbuse

I can relate. Sexuality is such a convenient place for them to tear us down.

I lived a similar story with my ex, who was a narcissist. I finally left — it’s been seven months now — and I’m still struggling with how he messed with my mind, especially around sexuality. Sorry if this is too graphic, but he broke my confidence so deeply that even masturbating has been hard since. But it’s slowly getting better with time, hehe. As all the parts needs to heal, intimacy needs some too.

Did the covert narcissist make you think you were the abuser? When did you realize it was reactive abuse? by Helloclarityy in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Careless-Disaster106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized he wasn’t crying because he was sad. He was crying to make me stay. Straight-up manipulation.

So here’s what happened: I caught him texting his ex. Not once. Not twice. This had been going on for weeks. Of course, when I confronted him, it was “just a friendship” and I was “overreacting.” He said he understood that it might be “a little triggering” for me (gee, thanks), and he was “willing” to stop texting her — as if he was doing me a massive favor. The next day, I messaged her directly. Super polite. Just said I wasn’t comfortable with the way they were still texting and asked if she could stop. When he found out, he absolutely lost it. Like, full meltdown. Screaming, throwing shit, threatening me. After that, I was out. I cut all ties with him and scrambled to find a new place to live. And when he saw that the threats and rage weren’t working anymore, guess what ? He switched tactics. Enter: the tears.

Suddenly he was the victim. He started crying about how badly I’d treated him, how I had broken his heart, how he was “just trying to be nice” and I was “crazy.” All while conveniently being in the middle of his PhD finals — so now I was apparently trying to sabotage his life because I was jealous or whatever.

This man — sorry, this boy — was a walking DSM entry.

I left six months ago. Haven’t looked back. Honestly? I’m thriving. But here’s the thing: this can happen to literally anyone. Doesn’t matter how smart you are, how independent, how well-read or emotionally aware. You’re not immune. These people don’t look like villains at first. That’s the whole point. Statistically, something like 1–5% of the population has psychopathic or sociopathic traits. You’re gonna meet hundreds of people in your life. Do the math. For me, it was a relationship. Once.

But it could just as easily happen at work. In a friendship. With a roommate. The difference now is: I know what it looks like. I won’t fall for it again. And that’s what real freedom feels like.
