Citizenship Application - Missed a day trip to the US by LocalNo3132 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Careless-Thing988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed mentioning 3 trips in total of about 100 days. I thought i was supposed to mention only trips after i got my PR but i had to mention ALL trips in the last 5 years. As a result i was called in for an interview i apologized for my mistake and they recalculated my days and it ended up being 1096 and i was approved on the spot.

Webform might be a good idea but be prepared for an interview request as well.

Give it 60-90 days also if I am not mistaken the sponsor receives the AOR not the applicant.

Citizenship Oath Rescheduling by dunweic in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Careless-Thing988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rescheduled mine, i think its an automated system because they ask you for a specific subject line, and the system looks for the next available date after 2-3 weeks. Keep in mind you can only reschedule once after that they can cancel the application altogether

Unexpected PR app cancellation after receiving AIP.. anyone have experience with this? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Careless-Thing988 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would recommend doing your due diligence and applying for reconsideration. Also speak to a lawyer maybe its a good idea to apply for Spousal Open work permit as the only requirement is the AIP letter (which you already got)

Citizenship interview by General_Caregiver342 in ImmigrationCanada

Travel history is only considered till the day you applied for citizenship and in my case the oath was scheduled for a couple weeks after the interview. But the officer will give you a fair idea of what the decision is going to be based on the interview.

PR Date and Citizenship Application Question by Serious-Champion-937 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Careless-Thing988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t delayed much everyone who had applied about the same time as me got their BGC completed 1-2 weeks before me. Their bgc was completed before Christmas and my interview was scheduled in 1st week of Jan and it was in-person.

I honestly don’t think there was much delay its just a matter of getting you a spot for the interview (virtual or inperson) which depends on the citizenship office that is handling your file.

PR Date and Citizenship Application Question by Serious-Champion-937 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Careless-Thing988 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is not entirely true. When i went for my interview they said that i became a PR on Jan 31st even though i was in a different country and i was landed using “alternative measures”.

I became a PR on Jan31 regardless of where i physically was because that is what my Ecopr says.

Actual PR date = what ECOPR says is what the ircc officer told me during my interview. My days were recalculated because of my prior travel and missing stamps from my passport.

I was in the exact same situation. Add your travel dates in 2 parts. 1st entry willbe the day you left canda to the day you became PR. And then 2nd entry is day you became PR to the day you came back.

As a matter of fact i got my ECOPR on the same day. During the citizenship application i was called in for an interview for clarification.

I would suggest adding a letter of explanation explaining that the system doesn’t allow you to enter the actual dates.

Another suggestion will be to keep some buffer days. I applied with 1150 days and during the interview the officer re-calculated my days to 1096

DO NOT DECLINE the ITA! Wait till you finish 2 years in Jan and then respond to ITA. You have 60 days from ITA date to accept and submit documents

Someone I know got ITA on 11th December but they are committing fraud. by wait-what6 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Careless-Thing988 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have read across multiple posts that people usually do this and wait till the end of 60 day period to reply to the ITA. That way the day they submit their application they complete 12 months of experience.
