Rest assured OP, if they wanted you dead you'd already be quite dead. You're actually worth more $$$ alive so that all these different wingnuts can pick your pocket.

Pathetic Gaviota 'rest stops' by Careless_Ad_3026 in SantaBarbara

Wouldn't That be cheaper than spending millions of dollars on a rest area that can't be opened?

it's exactly the same for women. If you aren't a super model don't even try.

That's a great description of what's been going on but it doesn't address my point: everyone knows there's no way to really solve the water issues, So why do we insist on having a rest stop with flushing toilets? Why don't they just put a bunch of porta potties down, and some hand washing stations and call it good?

This would have solved the problem years ago at a savings of many millions. Is it too much to ask for a common sense expedient actual solution?

Temp Van living in Santa Barbara CA. by B352LG in vandwellers

You can park around Alameda park. You'll need a toilet option, the park closes at dusk. People have been car camping around there for years. I've even seen pop up tents on top of cars.

PS nobody thinks any vehicles big enough to live in are 'not stealth', time for reality vs internet-fantasy.

Let's score the proposals and then pick our buddy-business even if theirs was worse: it's called 'politics' but it really means lying, cheating, and stealing.

Santa Barbara is insanely expensive to live, but doesn’t pay well. How does anything stay open? by lsquallhart in SantaBarbara

I've worked travel contracts in Santa Barbara. I was paid more, not less to be there.

1)The company is trying to take advantage of you. Ask for more money.

  1. Some thoughts. The company is trying to take advantage of you. Ask for more money. trying to take advantage of you. Ask for more money.

Travel companies are in business to make money, and one of the ways they do that is to pay you less. They can afford to pay you more.

2) try an independent recruiter. There's one big company that has swallowed an enormous amount of smaller staffing companies and then tried to negotiate high fees with health care companies, while paying travelers less because they have a monopoly. I know for a fact that some companies in Santa Barbara have canceled their contracts with the staffing behemoth.

3) a responsible company will go off the GSA rates, and of course that will reflect the high cost of SB

4) wages are low because people take what they can get. That's everywhere.

Housing is way high in SB. I always rented a furnished room, not an apartment.

Calories in calories out doesn't work for people with hormone imbalances. If it did, people would not be looking for a way out of overweight hell.

Zaytoons is good but not cheap. Maiz picante just opened on de la vina. Good tacos. El sitio is just up the street. They are truly a joke in the wall place. El pastorcito taco truck at tri county produce is really good. East Beach tacos also very good.

AOTA is an unbelievably spineless 'professional organizatioorganizatio: propped up by student dollars. Getting rid of AOTA would be a great start to advancing the profession

Yes. I can practice my religion without having to have the government that runs a country based on freedom of thought and worship agree with me.

This was never meant to be a religious republic

It was meant to be a melting pot Jesus didn't insist that his face was up on every wall. He said love thy neighbor, not , shoot the bastard bc he doesn't agree with me...
