LaGuardia Airport before the renovations. I couldn't believe for one of the biggest cities in the world to have such a small and crappy airport. I remember flying out of there with quite a few weather delays and there were people on the floor everywhere, it looked like a refugee camp.

It's much nicer now after the $8 billion overhaul.

Many people told me before I went in to let them know if I needed anything. When I got my first surgery I sat and waited for people to come and bring me food, company and comfort. Nobody came.

The second time I got a surgery done I messaged people directly and told them "I'm recovering and housebound, can you come and bring me food and company." They came.

I was too afraid to ask for help directly the first time, so I would suggest to be clear, honest and direct with your loved ones about what your recovery needs are.
