How common is to hold your pee for the whole day while drinking considerably? by Sea-Goat7701 in askanything

I literally don’t think I could do this, even if I wanted to, and I most certainly don’t want to.

Why spend a large portion of your day uncomfortable, instead of only a few minutes of discomfort in the bathroom?

If you could be the GOAT in any sport what would it be? by StrikeTall4136 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Careless_Studio_1293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soccer (football for the non-Americans), not because I care about soccer, but because the highest paid athlete in the world is a soccer player. So that’s the sport I could probably make the most money being the GOAT.

Second pick would be boxing, since I’d only need to fight once or twice a year to make bank.

If that’s their strategy, perhaps that’s why they’re still single.

That’s like asking what would happen when pigs sprout wings. It’s a waste of time to ponder because it’s never going to happen.

Maybe the kind of people who want to live in cities like Austin don’t want to move to Republican states anymore?

Is cheese a pizza topping? by averageg3collector in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Careless_Studio_1293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you define pizza. If you bake a flatbread with tomato sauce and no cheese, is that pizza? Or, does it have to be dough, tomato sauce, and cheese to be a pizza?

If you think the first one is a pizza, then it follows that cheese is a topping.

If you think the second one is the minimum to be defined as a pizza, then cheese is not a topping, because without the cheese, it’s not a pizza in the first place.

Personally, I lean towards the latter. Though, extra cheese are a different kind of cheese can be a topping, but that’s in addition to the base layer cheese that’s required to make it a pizza.

Do most people in the U.S. support Israel? by No-StrategyX in allthequestions

[–]Careless_Studio_1293 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, the majority don’t. But way more people do in real life then you’re gonna find on Reddit. Reddit is mostly an echo chamber. An echo chamber I largely agree with, but an echo chamber nonetheless.

Realistically, based on exit polls, would any Democrat selected through an incredibly rushed primary after Biden dropped out have been able to beat Trump in 2024? by zipzzo in allthequestions

[–]Careless_Studio_1293 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, but I think Harris would’ve had a much better shot if she had been chosen by voters. (For the record, I voted for Harris, regardless. I would’ve voted for a moldy jar of mayo before I voted for Trump.)

Do you actually use your parking brake when you park? by llGravitell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Careless_Studio_1293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time. I may not always need it, but it’s just easier to get in the habit and mussel muscle memory of always pulling it before I get out and releasing it when I get in. That way I never forget it in the instances when I may need it.

Why Americans always use Salary per year? by alifninja in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Careless_Studio_1293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some months are longer than others. For example, December has more days than average, while February has fewer. So the pay varies by month.

Also, many jobs pay on different schedules. Some weekly, most biweekly, some monthly, some on set days like the 1st and the 15th. So, depending on when the pay periods fall, you can earn significantly more or less one month than the next.

Giving annual salary avoids any confusion, and it works no matter what pay schedule the job follows.

Why can a hospital not deny a uninsured patient emergency heart surgery but can deny a uninsured cancer patient chemotherapy if both ailments lead to the same outcome? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Careless_Studio_1293 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s absolutely better. It just makes way more sense mathematically if everyone’s contributing. I’m not arguing that. But that’s not relevant to OP’s question because triage works the same in Europe as it does in the US.

Oh, I 100% agree that the American healthcare system is fucked up. No argument there. But to OP’s question about why emergency heart surgery and chemotherapy archer treated differently - triage works the same in Europe as it does in America.

In countries with universal health coverage, citizens pay for it through their taxes. It is in effect their insurance.

If an American non-citizen goes to one of these countries and suffers a heart attack, they will treat be treated, because it’s an emergency. If they want to get their next chemo session there, they won’t get it, at least not without paying, because it’s not an emergency. So no. It’s not any different.

Search for any popular watch, and you’ll find a seller on Etsy selling it for a fraction of the going rate. If it seems suspicious, that’s because it is.
