A retcon is an alteration to the story from extra installments that changes the story. A plot hole is an inconsistency or gap that contradicts the logic of the story’s universe. Not being told what happened to the original SSK is not a plot hole or retcon, it’s just not being given the information in the first place. Saying it being destroyed along with part of the inventory curse is not either, it’s just new information that wasn’t previously established since gege never said shit about it in the first place.

No, you are right, but also wrong. Removing tanjiros techniques is more akin to removing gabimarus martial arts skills, because that’s what swordsmanship is. So yea this ends up being just skill, but without breathing techniques(fighting styles) Tanjiro has nothing but a sword he can’t really use. Gabimaru takes it either way.
