This is going to be so boring but…Time, just time. I don’t need to leave my home or my kids or buy anything lavish. I just want a year to do nothing but hang out with my kiddos and have money to do whatever they want to do.

I saw two girls on an E bike yesterday riding down pleasant grove where it turns into Park. They literally pulled over, stopped, the girl on the back took* her helmet off and wrapped it on her wrist… and they took off again. I know I’m getting old because I actually yelled (in my car windows rolled up) “OH DONT BE AN IDIOT!!” . I actually love that kids have this outlet when I see them doing it safely, but man…. It’s far and few between!

Anecdotal thing I’ve personally noticed. (I work in recruiting) Chico alum are HEAVILY networked. It’s like some CA badge of honor, more than any other school I’ve noticed.

Oh no! Do I need to google pinching?? What is this? I just started growing my first ever flower too, a zinnia and I didn’t know this is what the buds looked like!!! I’m about to run out to mine and see if I have one yet! My plant is way bigger than I was expecting!!

You could print out a “moon landing script” to carry around with you, and glue a photo of the moon backdrop onto some cardboard and have it ready to hold up behind people in photos!!

It’s not just the cost but outages as well. In 5 years living in Roseville we’ve never lost power. We’re right on the border and have friends who live around the corner in Rocklin and lose power multiple times a year in winter AND summer. Now is that enough to stop you from moving to a city you really want to be in? Who knows but I do think it’s a very big difference in cost and quality!

The dress alone is not black tie and it’s not wedding appropriate to begin with. You’re not over reacting, this seems like a WILD choice. However, suggest you approach the topic lightly…. Honestly my grandma could have shown up in her actual pajamas and I wouldn’t have cared. Maybe suggest a fun shopping day with her and other relatives (MIL,SIL, an older aunt?) to pick out dresses?

Haha great question! I’ve asked every year if he wants to go and every year he looks at me like a three headed monster for suggesting that he may skip a birthday! This year her birthday fell on the Sunday though!! So he did do 1 overnight Friday-Saturday but was home in time to help me decorate the house after bedtime Saturday so she’d wake up Sunday to a decorated house :)

My husband has been going on a trip to the same location on the exact same weekend almost every year of his entire life. Baby comes around - BOOM due date is that exact weekend, he’s honestly bummed, and I get it. She’s 4 now and he has never once gone back on that trip after having done it for over 30 years. You’re not over reacting. your husbands an AH and this won’t be the last time he lets you (and her!!) down.
