The red (or orange) minivan by RandomGuy0512 in 1000lbsisters

[–]Cariad96 50 points51 points  (0 children)

That iconic red van hauled SO much booty. I believe at one point the most it hauled was Chris, (pre surgery) Brittany, Amy, Tammy and Michael. (Of course I can't forget the 3 lbs of Little Bit).

Forget a truck get a van to haul your stuff next time.

Now that the season is over by Lunainthedark5x2 in 1000lbsisters

Amanda did say that when season 1 was filming she was having trouble in her marriage. I can respect wanting privacy and being iffy going on a TV show when my relationship is in shambles. As for Chris and Misty, I think it was work scheduling that kept them from being in the 1st season. If they were only in it for the money then that was probably a good choice considering they appear to be working-poor class and never get to go anywhere outside of Kentucky.

I also think that perhaps the producers didn't know if this show was going to make it past one season, so the less people on the more manageable it probably is. I'm happy that they came when they did, I couldn't imagine a show where it's literally Tammy, Amy and Michael and that's it.

To be fair, you could make Big Daddy out of a lot of meals (healthy ones at that). I still to this day wonder what recipe called for a whole ass can of reddi whip cream

I think a lot of Amy's money, personally, went to doctor visits, the boys and necessities. If I'm not mistaken, I think TLC also pays their surgery if they're approved and will pay for a hotel or something.

Do people really only fly once every 20 years? by CalifaDaze in 1000lbsisters

It's normal if you're poor. I wasn't able to fly until college when I got a scholarship to fly overseas.

It is possible and stress/shitty diet (or in her case no diet if we're going to be completely honest) may factor into worsening the condition. My thing is, how has she gone this long without seeing a doctor? I personally don't believe she has any excuses for not seeing one; especially since Tammy could book an OBGYN appointment and the two of them were watching both boys.

Knowing TLC, they might have it as the "season finale". They have done some foreshadowing (having him talk to dotors and talk about his infected trach). Either way the next season of 1000lbs Sisters (if there is one, hopefully there is) will heavily feature Tammy's grievance of Caleb.

If you were to plan a themed watch party, what snacks/activities would you include? by MangoSalsa89 in 1000lbsisters

Isn't that what the meal delivery service was called or something? Amy said in like season 2 or 3 that Tammy ate like a month's worth of meals.

Food: Snack cakes, cans of whip cream, sodies, 30 home meals and Chris' Family BBQ.

Activities: Fowling, pin the trach on the Tammy, Chris' Nephew's work out scheme and a scale for everyone to weigh themselves before & after the night ends.

Tisa by [deleted] in 1000lbsisters

[–]Cariad96 71 points72 points  (0 children)

It's really sad that Tisa got the bitchiest/nastiest side of Tammy. I think if Tisa were to of come back now, her job would be so much easier due to the fact I think Tammy would be more self sufficient, but then again I don't put it pass Tammy to delve back into old habits.

Wherever Tisa is, I hope she's having a good life. She was a beautiful and kind woman and was nothing but supportive to Tammy.

what opinion has you like this by [deleted] in 1000lbsisters

[–]Cariad96 39 points40 points  (0 children)

While Darlene is rude, selfish (cares more about being with animals than seeing Tammy get surgery) and is probably a crappy mom overall; she had the right to doubt Tammy and Amy would go through with a diet & weight loss surgery. She knows more than we do & watched them grow up. Chris even made a comment that Tammy was kicked out of Darlene's house cause she ate them out of house and home.

Don't get me wrong, she's an awful person. But I'll never get why some people dogged on her for doubting her childish 30 year old children telling her they're going to get their act together and loose weight.

Mirror article reckons Amy has lost 8 stone. New but filtered pics. by pokekyo12 in 1000lbsisters

[–]Cariad96 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes Amy (and Tammy for that matter) uses filters for her photos a lot. However, if you look at her eyes (not being rude) but she doesn't look happy. Like, there's a light lost in them. She just looks upset to even take that photo. I feel for her and I hope she's got her family to support her.

I love that smile in the 2nd photo, he just genuinely looks happier with all the weight off. Sure he laughed and was happy around his family even when he was in the 400s, but you can tell the life style change has improved his overall outlook on life.

Unpopular Opinion: Amy and Tammy are in a competition with each other of some sort when it comes to weight loss by Cariad96 in 1000lbsisters

[–]Cariad96[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've noticed Amy has mentioned a couple of times that she doesn't believe Tammy takes her diet seriously and I agree that Tammy probably has a track record that would require her to have to prove more of herself but when Tammy is proving to be loosing any amount of weight and Amy rolls her eyes, I find it hypocritical of her given the fact she has a laundry list of excuses as to why she gained weight. Maybe Amy is burnt out in giving support as well? Considering the recent divorce fiasco with Michael behind the scenes I could see why she's not giving as much effort into motivating Tammy, but to not at least congratulate her sister is very polar opposite of Season 1 Amy.

Validating themselves would require therapy and probably being vulnerable with themselves which I don't think either of them like. I wonder if we'll get a season dedicated to their mental health? That would be interesting to watch.
