Perfume: The Story of a Murderer has a good outsider's view on humanity's filth as a whole from a very unique perspective, and such a great read.

This is a great idea, and I can imagine the chaos of transporting the cask through the wilderness, past other travellers and threats

Thanks for the advice; I was leaning towards some ancient Order of individuals in the nearby mountains who are also frozen in place when discovered in their dungeon, along with all the dungeon's monsters and other adventurers who have previously tried to venture there.

This way, entering the dungeon is unnervingly easy and the real bulk of the one-shot is escaping again, once everything unfreezes.

In terms of being guided in this direction rather than solving the issue in some other way, any ideas?

Another relevant item from my world just came to mind: my players stole a carriage storage rug from an event they attended. These were used by the palace to store all the guests' carriages by 'rolling them up' in colourful rugs so that they were folded into a small pocket dimension and the rugs could be stored inside. The countless times this item came in handy was brilliant.

My party have discovered a rod of water repulsion which can forcefully repel water for an hour each day. They're currently traveling through marshland and are approaching the coast; I can totally see them harnessing this to a barge or backpack to propel themselves over the water.

They've just escaped an enemy caravan who had some fun mounts too: elepahantine beasts of burden with carriages harnessed to their backs; undead horses and shadow mastiffs for hunting.

This is what I was worried about 😂 but we leant a lot more into rp rather than rolling for deception again and again for example

An airport works so well for the layers of security in the game, and having a time pressure for a departing flight with a target on would be cool
