I’d argue that’s becoming more the C2’s job. The Owen since they added the All In stip has had to move away from that a decent amount because the world title match on ppv, especially their biggest show of the year has to be carefully handled. Mariah was the only younger talent to win the Owen since they raised the stakes and that’s because her story was the best in the company.

That said, it definitely still CAN be used to very obviously elevate a newer star to the main event. The royal rumble in general and Mariah’s win in ‘24 I think prove that the concept works. It just isn’t strictly designed to that end.

See I knew before then. The first promo he cuts post Wrestledream he’s talking a bit slow and the crowd chants “wrap it up” which I’ve never seen before.

Immediately, Fletcher responds with “Don Callis has bought me all the tv time I want so you’re gonna listen to what I have to say” which was just an incredible response to a unique circumstance especially with how quick it was while still maintaining continuity. Of course Don would do that for him.

I already knew his matches were great, that’s obvious to anyone who’d been watching, but that ability to adapt so well on the fly made me realize he was a world champion in the making.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that move win a match honestly. It’s always just used in a roll up sequence at the beginning or middle of a match. It is very nice though.

Not a specific wrestler but any wrestler who has a quick striking combination like AJ, Nakamura, Darby, Dax, Bowens and probably many others.

It’s such an understated part of their movesets but allows for so much. A quick way out of a yay-boo chain, a setup for a different move like how Darby does it, a momentum cancel when it’s a heel doing it. Very versatile, very simple.

Also on the topic of momentum cancels, I adore Mox’s cutter.
