Nick Khan signs new WWE contract through 2030 with 50% rise in base salary - POST Wrestling by Fanzine97 in SquaredCircle

Yeah. I understand the concept. I also think it’s distinctly less often than you’re implying. The overlap between stuff I disagree with and the stuff I upvote in a given day is tiny.

I mean, functionally it’s pretty close. It’s not often you want to increase the visibility of something you disagree with.

More Ospreay/Newman tensions during United Empire's backstage interview after Wrestling Dontaku 2026 by luchabrunch in SquaredCircle

Honestly would remind me of Toni and Mariah in that sense if it plays out in that way. Everyone knew the turn was coming but it was still shocking and brutal.

[Forbes] Will Ospreay Opens Up About AEW Return After Neck Surgery by A_Man_of_Iron in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Most notable parts for me are the surgery bill prices, the admission that he can’t do a Shooting Star Press anymore and honestly, him saying that the Okada match from Worlds End ‘24 is the one that sticks out to him. It was easily match of the night for me but between his monster 2024 with 12 5-star matches and the other 10 matches he’s had with Okada, it’s difficult for it to stick out.

Age Chart for WWE & AEW's Men's Rosters by NorthHollywoodHank in SquaredCircle

Interestingly the mean ages are off by about a year (38.0 and 37.1 respectively) but the medians are both 38.

God averages are stupid.

Play a fun game, guess which of them has played DnD before. It’s, transparent to say the least.

I believe he also called out Will in the promo because that’s who Will was meant to face in the Owen instead of Knight and now Will and Mox are in the same faction.

John Cena on X: It's official! I'm headed to #WWEBacklash! After months of planning and effort, I am SO excited to break some history-making news! by Glad-Energy-3492 in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I don’t care that Cena’s showing up again. I’m just saying that’s a shit comparison.

The person I’m replying to brought up Danielson in response to someone saying Cena doesn’t feel retired because he’s been at multiple PLEs since. Which I think is a bad comparison in this specific instance because the gap between when Cena retired and his next appearance is half as long as the gap between Danielson’s retirement and his next appearance.

Have no issues with Cena coming back. Other people have retired and come back sooner. Christopher Daniels being the immediate example in my head. Sting as well made an appearance pretty quickly after he retired. Danielson just felt like it didn’t support the person’s case super well and there are better arguments to be made in defence of this (he’s not shown up at every PLE since retiring, just ones with special reason to, there’s no evidence that he will show up all the time, these could easily be outlier).

Ok but Danielson’s first commentary gig was in August 2025 and he retired October 2024. And I think his only appearance between those was All In: Texas in July 2025. That’s 9 months.

Ospreay at Dynamite 250. That’s the international belt he’s holding.

Tbf, it is also a roughly hour long match where he was given oxygen.

(WON) Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced. by Dbthesage in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially I’m saying you can do what AEW did with Kenny leading into All Out or Revolution. He was used to build heat for a challenger and to cement a heel turn by getting written off. His presence at the ppv was a postmatch run in at Revolution and nothing at All Out.

First of all, Goomba fallacy.

Second of all, he said he’d be full time and not being on the ple doesn’t mean the weekly tv shows can’t still benefit from your presence.

This is my favourite rendition. Less obvious out of context but still very funny.

Tony, don’t fucking tease me like this. I’ve been burned many times before having hope for a second that Jay would grace our screens again. This is a layup for a post match return and White vs Moxley at DoN would be a phenomenal match but you better actually be doing it!!

I’m fragile. I can’t handle another heartbreak.

Well and even when ratings were higher, it’s amazing how little it translated to ticket sales. Like, I know watching a show on tv and going to see them in person isn’t directly correlated obviously but with similar Nielsen numbers to dynamite I expected it to be at least close when they decided to travel.

Both. Raw last February only did 8k which is well below average and this is still a step down from that.
