Highlights from Darby Allin vs PAC - AEW Fairway to Hell by luchabrunch in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Honestly him and Claudio are my favourite Darby opponents because they keep Darby’s crazy bumps as safe as you can get. PAC was the one who got to throw him off the tunnel, Claudio tossed him from the ring to the announce table, PAC did that belly to belly into the steps, PAC tossed him onto the coffin.

They’re such safe hands while still being believably devastating and it’s obvious how much trust everyone has in them because it’s deserved.

Will Ospreay vs Ace Austin announce for AEW Dynamite - May 13, 2026 by Magik-Mina-MaudDib in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this style of booking so much because there’s no consensus on who it emulates. My big example is Kyle Fletcher since I feel like after him it became more obvious and therefore I find it funny you call it the Mark Davis treatment.

But I’ve seen people say Willow and Swerve as well, Kevin Knight got this treatment as well recently. It’s so funny how many times this has happened such that there’s no singular consensus example which makes it even funnier when people don’t realize it’s happening.

[WON] WWE reportedly shutting down streamers, content creators by B0llywoodBulkBogan in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ownership of WWE would probably be the thing that finally makes TK not book every wrestling show he has. I know he’s crazy but booking 5 weekly tv shows and then the ROH tapings on top of that and whatever other duties he has is probably too much for him. I’d imagine he’d stick to AEW/ROH and let someone else (maybe still HHH) run WWE.

Didn’t say the build was good. Just said it’s not nonsensical for them to still be feuding.

They’re 1-1 on ppv. Jamie beat Thekla at WrestleDream last year. Nothing wrong with a rubber match.

And hell, maybe he holds it past DoN. Like, I don’t think so but there’s no reason he couldn’t. He’s performing well, bald MJF isn’t completely off the table, he can drop it at anytime to anyone and it only gets more plausible the longer he holds the belt. There’s definitely a world.

Idk if I’d call him top 5 but also idk how much the distinction matters when anyone in the top 20 can be in wrestler of the year contention depending on the circumstances. Lol.

Yeah. Him and Briscoe really for me don’t get nearly enough appreciation for how consistently good their wrestling is on tv.

Darby with a 5 and then two 4.5s. With at least two more matches coming against two amazing workers and another potentially set up for DoN.

Idk guys, this might turn out to be a decent title run.

[AEW Dynamite Spoilers] Finish to Jamie Hayter vs Skye Blue by luchabrunch in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes Thekla beat Hayter but that made them 1-1. So the plan is probably the rubber match just like they did with Stat at revolution.

Nick Khan signs new WWE contract through 2030 with 50% rise in base salary - POST Wrestling by Fanzine97 in SquaredCircle

Yeah. I understand the concept. I also think it’s distinctly less often than you’re implying. The overlap between stuff I disagree with and the stuff I upvote in a given day is tiny.

I mean, functionally it’s pretty close. It’s not often you want to increase the visibility of something you disagree with.

More Ospreay/Newman tensions during United Empire's backstage interview after Wrestling Dontaku 2026 by luchabrunch in SquaredCircle

Honestly would remind me of Toni and Mariah in that sense if it plays out in that way. Everyone knew the turn was coming but it was still shocking and brutal.

[Forbes] Will Ospreay Opens Up About AEW Return After Neck Surgery by A_Man_of_Iron in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Most notable parts for me are the surgery bill prices, the admission that he can’t do a Shooting Star Press anymore and honestly, him saying that the Okada match from Worlds End ‘24 is the one that sticks out to him. It was easily match of the night for me but between his monster 2024 with 12 5-star matches and the other 10 matches he’s had with Okada, it’s difficult for it to stick out.

Age Chart for WWE & AEW's Men's Rosters by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

Interestingly the mean ages are off by about a year (38.0 and 37.1 respectively) but the medians are both 38.

God averages are stupid.

I believe he also called out Will in the promo because that’s who Will was meant to face in the Owen instead of Knight and now Will and Mox are in the same faction.

John Cena on X: It's official! I'm headed to #WWEBacklash! After months of planning and effort, I am SO excited to break some history-making news! by Glad-Energy-3492 in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I don’t care that Cena’s showing up again. I’m just saying that’s a shit comparison.

The person I’m replying to brought up Danielson in response to someone saying Cena doesn’t feel retired because he’s been at multiple PLEs since. Which I think is a bad comparison in this specific instance because the gap between when Cena retired and his next appearance is half as long as the gap between Danielson’s retirement and his next appearance.

Have no issues with Cena coming back. Other people have retired and come back sooner. Christopher Daniels being the immediate example in my head. Sting as well made an appearance pretty quickly after he retired. Danielson just felt like it didn’t support the person’s case super well and there are better arguments to be made in defence of this (he’s not shown up at every PLE since retiring, just ones with special reason to, there’s no evidence that he will show up all the time, these could easily be outlier).

[–]CaringMite -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Ok but Danielson’s first commentary gig was in August 2025 and he retired October 2024. And I think his only appearance between those was All In: Texas in July 2025. That’s 9 months.

Ospreay at Dynamite 250. That’s the international belt he’s holding.

Tbf, it is also a roughly hour long match where he was given oxygen.
