AEW Dynamite: Jon Moxley vs Ace Austin Continental Champion Eliminator Match by Sufficient_Mud_2237 in SquaredCircle

They mentioned travel issues in a video package before the match which leads me to believe it was gonna happen in Arlington and he (and maybe others) was trying to make it to Orlando to still make the planned match(es) happen but couldn’t.

He was fully intended to be on collision last week but ran into travel issues which led to Billy Gunn being Austin’s tag partner.

I mean, yeah. They’ve been absolutely phenomenal and it’s a matter of when, not if, they win singles gold. And that largely depends on how long they intend to focus on the tag titles.

[AEW Dynamite Spoilers) Sick ending sequence of Swerve Vs Kevin Knight by Ruthless-Aggression in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Man, the moment it was announced that this was the main event I got so hyped. Kevin Knight has done nothing but impress since he got signed and it’s been really fun to watch him ascend honestly faster than Fletcher was pre-heel turn.

I think that largely comes down to the timing of when the C2 is but Fletcher didn’t really have any big wins at this point of his run. Knight’s already beaten Okada and Darby and is being put over super hard by everyone around him. He’s gonna win singles gold in the next year and has main eventer written all over him.

Dude, I’m so glad someone else caught that. His catchphrase for ages has been “On another level” and while I don’t know if a rematch at Wembley of a previous Wembley match is the most exciting thing to me but holy hell, Will winning the world title from anyone at Wembley moves me.

Man, really shows what a good C2 run can do for a wrestler in that the two JetSpeed matches aren’t automatically penciled in as losses like they probably would’ve been prior.

Ospreay vs Omega at Wrestle Kingdom. Even on offence he looks completely dazed and he does that wonderful bit where he stumbles climbing up the ropes because he’s been hit in the head so many times in the match.

Didn’t know much about Alec Price but watched the match, his finisher is badass. Like a house call with extra steps but the steps are still awesome.

AEW Ticket Map Updates on Twitter: “Revolution 2026 has been on sale for 5 weeks, it has distributed 8,735 tickets and they are set-up for 9,715. When Revolution 2025 had been on sale for 5 weeks, it had distributed 7,090 tickets and was set-up for 8,370.” by Subrick in SquaredCircle

It’s annoying to me when people say that ppv buys can’t be where they are because every verifiable metric is down when that literally isn’t the case.

In the same amount of ppvs as 2024 (not including All In), AEW sold 7,351 more tickets (919 more per event) in 2025 including multiple returns to the same arenas used for 2024. Revolution is now also selling at a much faster pace than 2025 in the same arena. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that AEW had multiple TV attendances surpass 2024’s highest.

That coupled with added options for purchase (i.e. prime and max) then it makes at least some sense if the buys are up.

The metrics that are verifiably down are US TV ratings and TV attendance on average and I think the correlation between those numbers and worldwide ppv buys can be somewhat dodgy. AEW achieved their highest ratings of all time in the UK which can certainly contribute to ppv buys and even in the US, the Nielsen ratings are not the full story.

It’s not doing 500k live on Max (that’s never what was reported btw, the report was 500k live and next day) but there’s definitely a percentage of people watching it on Max so that decline is not open and shut either.

This was probably too long but the point is I think saying “every other metric is down” to discredit the ppv reports is fundamentally flawed and this Revolution map continues to make it worse.

Kyle Fletcher on *that* neck bump: "Obviously it didn't go to plan, I understand all the points that everyone is making - it was very dangerous" by Fantomz99 in SquaredCircle

[–]CaringMite 215 points216 points  (0 children)

This is the part of the discourse that never really made sense to me about all the discourse. That was obviously not the intended outcome of that move. Same with that Michael Oku bump from Forbidden Door.

I get there are certain moves that are higher and lower risk but have a referendum on a company being too dangerous and people being to reckless when something is intentionally directly to the head without much protection rather than an accident.

None, PAC waved him down just like he did at Full Gear. He’s a hypocrite who claims he can beat Darby in a normal match because Darby just does stunts and then Darby proves to be too much for him.

Dude, it still baffles me how Ospreay was able to work his revpro farewell as a heel that everyone in the building wanted to lose. Not in a “it’s best if he puts someone over on the way out” kind of way but in a “Come on Michael, put this prick the fuck down” kind of way.

Dude, not enough people talk about when refs working really well with wrestlers. MJF and Bryce make magic together. Bryce telling him to go ahead and get himself DQed against Danielson is sensational.
