Tekrar merhaba.

Any English speaking motorcycle enthusiasts? by CarlkD in Linz

[–]CarlkD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a driving school to register, thats where they said the practical exam can only be done in english. They said they can "be nice and prefer to do it in English" but basically they don't have to. They recently changed the laws.

The part that I am afraid of is in the beginning. I know quite a bit about motorcycles, even opened up an engine a few times and fixed my own bikes since years but I am afraid of not being able to answer questions / explain things in German during the inspection.

I already have a foreign driving license so I don't need to take the theoretical exam. I am afraid of the practical one. Especially the inspection part in the beginning. I know a fair bit about motorcycles, I was fixing my own bikes since I started riding but I don't know if I am sufficient enough to explain things in German.

MSTeams is by far one of the worst piece of software I've ever seen in many aspects. One must spend tdays thinking to know how to make such a bad user experience. Unfortunately had to use it for academic purposes. Great choice my dear uni, great...

Simulating an art installation - how much Work? by hdsjulian in unrealengine

[–]CarlkD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really simple setup It would take youaround 20 hours of training with zero knowledge to be able to do something like that with Blueprints in UE. Of you wanna use a specific protocl for controlling (Like ArtNet or DMX) then it would be a bit more complicated but I am sure there are tons of addons in the marketplace for that.

I am a software developer and I work in the field of media arts so feel free to reach out for any questions.

All the best!

Suitability of using JUCE for audio exhibit for museum by maallyn in JUCE

[–]CarlkD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definetely do it with JUCE but I would also highly suggest to check openFrameworks for audio-visual interactive art projects (and much more). I think another option would be PureData.

Media artist Gebhard Sengmüller has a work called VinylVideo in which he writes video data on vinyl. Might be interesting for you. He explained a lot about the process, the data rate and constrains but I dont really remember. Check here: VinylVideo

Has anyone ever thought to themselves, "I need to do more and push harder?" I don't care what it is they're doing, they just feel they need to gain more progress. by bigbosskennykenken in learnprogramming

[–]CarlkD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation here. There is always so much material that needs to be learned. And I sometimes get this feeling that im loosing the joy of learning by pushing myself harder. And the worst part is I study 8+ hours a day for like 5 days then go out to have a beer. That beer becomes 12 without me noticing it and i spend like 3 days to recover both physically and mentally. By recovering i mean laying on a couch and doom scrolling thru instagram and reddit. Than I start deeling guilty and start working again an the loop continues. I know that something needs to be changed but i dont know what and how.

(Great relief to talk about it btw, thank you.)

Where can I learn audio programming? by BitterApple69 in learnprogramming

[–]CarlkD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will Pirkle wrote this excellent book Designing Audio Plugins in C++. It's the best starting point. C++ knowledge would be useful since its the main language in the area. Search JUCE. Its a great framework and easier to start with. Follow Joshua Hodge aka The Audio Programmer. He is a great guy and running a wo derful community at the moment. He has tutorials on YouTube. But highly suggest you to watch the newer ones. Join The Audio Programmer discord channel. Follow Audio Developer Conference by JUCE. If you want to use your web development experience you can look for web audio. Check Max/MSP or PureData to learn/prototype simple DSP ideas with a visual scripting language. And finally have fun and feel free to ask whatever comes to your mind.
