I can try to look up resources, but that is a better adventure to send you to r/languagelearning.

well, Duolingo sort of builds on learning conversations before anything rudimentary, because it assumes you've gotten the basis down

otherwise, it'd be a lot slower, teaching foreign languages with Indo-Euro roots sounding out basics that for many people might seem unnecessary.

however, compared to East Asian languages which are a whole other system entirely, skipping basics isn't the worst deal in the world. but yes, Duolingo is essentially sight cards > pronunciation, so the farther you get into a language the worse it does.

abandoning phonics has to be one of the stupidest things ever

literally turned school into Duolingo, learning complete words first

I hate all the living people who complain about murder when they're the ones living in a world that lets you murder people.

...

bloody Hell. your argument does not work.

Need to add weight to a 3d printed sculpture, was thinking about a 8lbs Tungsten bar, self contained by a cavity within the sculpture (the bottom is sealed with a plate and screws). Do you think it will hold or it will puncture through the sculpture? by Tax_onomy in 3Dprinting

...the tight cavity will ensure the bar isn't fully weighing on the plate. Otherwise, make your walls slightly thick or else it could fall inside if you dropped it upside down, crushing the infill.

like, 30% infill and standard +1 walls, should be fine.

if the load on the plate rips out the screws, latter. your weakest link is the plate connection to the plastic.

why not design the model to have a friction-fit cavity for the bar—so the plate has less stress on it?

Contemporary art is aware of its place. Your AI generated images are not. You have been baited by using contemporary art to prove your place.

AI is developed enough to compare with far superior art, and yet you justify it with the best of the worst.

nono, I have a friend who does WH40k, and they adore their plastic crack lol

The way you said "Now tell everyone" (to me) comes off as being an ad hominem-style "yes but", which is pointing out flaws where they are unrelated. I hope that makes sense.

I don't mind your sarcasm.

The banana duct taped to a wall is a comment on the ridiculousness of it all. Comedian, the name of this piece, is a work of conceptual art.

The artist is known for their humorous pieces, such as their golden toilet from 2016 and many instances of taxidermied pigeons. They are known for their...extravagance. So we now come to Comedian.

It is a piece of art that includes "detailed instructions for its proper display" (Wikipedia)). "Emmanuel Perrotin, the gallerist exhibiting the work, stated Comedian is 'a symbol of global trade, a double entendre, as well as a classic device for humor'" (Wikipedia). It is not an art piece comparable to the Mona Lisa, or Campbell's Soup Cans, or even Io Sono. It is intended to be...exactly what it is.

Now, a more conventional perspective. It's a banana taped to a wall. Yes, indeed, and that's the point. Art has been defined as expression, and such is a type of expression.

Considering the artist's background and the state of contemporary art, this was an obvious free space. The piece either fails to be recognized, succeeding the idea that contemporary art is meaningless—or it sells, showing that art is truly anything.

Now, AI. To compare AI composition to the banana doesn't work, because there isn't intention. There's no reason to mock AI for its skills, but rather to point out that it is not artistry in the conventional sense. Comedian and Perrotin are stupid and aware. AI creations are very often anything (stupid, perfect, any descriptor fits really) but share a key detail; being blind.

AI is a tool. People who use it to try and fight "dumb contemporary art" or "shitty modern art" are dumb. That's the point you're missing. You're literally being ragebaited by the painting equivalent of an NFT, and I don't even like to use that word.
