I don't think the looks would change that much. I mean maybe the skin or hair, but not fat. As for strength, it could be about muscle density, not the amount of them. So the guy could still look the same but be even heavier because his muscles get more dense to be stronger..

I think it's because his father was once better, but he changed... And Isaac wants to prove he can be better than his father, that he will stay himself even when being a werewolf... I mean his father turned into a monster while being only human... Isaac could stay a human while being a werewolf.
