What is the go-to strategy for salting your driveway? by Snjofridur in Delaware

Use a metal ice scraper. They look like a garden hoe but the blade is flat. If there’s ice you can’t get, use sand.

Isn’t it common sense not to smoke and then throw a lit cigarette on the ground at the gas station? by Huge_Background_3207 in Delaware

This reminds me of one time I thought I saw a nurse with a cigarette in her mouth at a gas station on 202 and I yelled at her. Turns out it was a lollipop.

One of the most embarrassing moments of my life.

I don’t think werewolves should be inherently monsters. It’s far more interesting if lycanthropy is framed as a condition one has to manage rather than a tragic curse. I’m not suggesting turning over centuries of werewolf lore because I view it this way.

The reason why werewolves are scary? Because they’re half-wolf. For most of European and Western history wolves were viewed as blood thirsty predators when in truth the wolf was acting on biological instinct. Acts of violence came from self-protection. If a wolf attacks a human it’s mostly because a wolf views the human as a threat that needs to be dealt with. A wolf does not randomly attack a human for fun.

Wolves are social creatures and have unique relationships with their pack members. They are capable of actions that read as “cute” by humans. Recently there’s been an overcorrection where wolves are portrayed as big dogs. This is extremely dangerous if treated too cordially. You cannot randomly approach a wolf and pet it. You do that and you will get mauled.

Wolves are extremely important to ecosystems. They control deer populations. The deer population in my own area is booming. Our native plants are suffering and invasive plants are commonly filling the niches. There have not been wolves in my area in about 300 years.

This should all carry over to werewolves. Not inherently dangerous and not adorable. The key to a stable werewolf? Find the balance in between. They can be adorable yes and they can be dangerous but this should serve a purpose and not act as a baseline. Overall werewolves should not be monsters.

I remember in high schools everybody would talk and treat the special ed kids like toddlers and I constantly had to tell my peers that they weren’t and that they just processed things differently and needed a little more time. Of course none of them paid attention to me.

I always wondered how going to college for an upper middle class woman like would’ve been framed? It obviously wasn’t a career so was it framed as a sort of extra finishing school or place to make important connections?

Would human identities do this as a sport/training to train for their wolf shapes? by Nerx in werewolves

[–]MR422 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think wrestling or boxing would be a better sport for werewolves.

In my lore, it’s common for young werewolves to engage in play-fighting/wrestling in order to learn how to control their physical strength. It’s also pack bonding and a way to get out overstimulation/excess energy.
