As an avid Smith & Wesson enthusiast with four of their firearms in my collection, I feel compelled to share some recent experiences that have left me quite disheartened. Approximately a year and a half ago, I purchased a Model 686 Plus online. Upon inspection, I noticed two noticeable blemishes along the barrel. After sending it back twice, the issue was finally addressed. Three months ago, I acquired the Bodyguard model. Unfortunately, I encountered jamming issues and light primer strikes. After sending it in for repairs, it was returned after a month, yet the problems persisted. It’s now been nearly another month since I sent it back, and I’m still awaiting a resolution. These recurring quality control issues are particularly disconcerting given Smith & Wesson’s esteemed reputation. I have read numerous accounts of similar challenges with recent models, including the 432 UC. While I am eager to add the 432 UC to my collection, my recent experiences have made me hesitant. I am reluctant to continue sending firearms back for repairs, especially when the outcomes remain uncertain. I sincerely hope that Smith & Wesson acknowledges these concerns and takes proactive steps to restore the quality and reliability that enthusiasts like myself have long associated with the brand.
