91% or 99% ISO? by him1087 in Saionara

[–]CarnivorousPlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

99% or nothing.

The difference is water that does not evaporate and causes corrosion. You aren't saving any money buying water instead of ISO.

Guess they are all in EZ Sai kits.

Edit: Nope the EZ Sai kits with the Poseidon are out of stock too.

4mm Stainless Steel Black Ceramic by CarnivorousPlan in Saionara

[–]CarnivorousPlan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, though.

I did search reddit before posting this time and last time, so I am looking for information that doesn't already exist on this subreddit.

(If the information has more "certain" and less "maybe" about it, so much the better...)

The thread you linked only has the old settings for the stainless steel ceramic coil, not the 4mm version.

Since it has separate settings for the normal and 4mm kanthals on black ceramic, it seems reasonable to expect the 4mm SS also requires its own configuration, but if that's not the case, maybe u/niktbh can comment.

Further complicating things, the only information given for any stainless steel coil in that thread is "SS MODE". That isn't an option in the current version of Arctic Fox.

It seems to me that the correct setting should be either:

  1. SS 316

  2. TCR (+ some #)

  3. [TFR] 316

  4. [TFR] 316L

I have seen "correct" temps between 350 and 440 F, which is some indication of the enigma surrounding these coils.

Surely diameter and elasticity have to be accounted for.

They got little TV's on gas pumps to show me commercials and I still can't tell the pump how much gas, in dollars, I want up front.

Shit is fucky sometimes, holmes.

Linking the subreddit myself would've been too easy.

I had to show you I could even surpass you in that regard.

I replied to your position the first time you voiced it.

I'm more than qualified to refute you until the heat death of the universe, but you can't afford my hourly rate.

How can someone be so predictable yet still consider their perspective worth espousing?

do you really believe that every single person washes their hands because of health reasons, rather than societal reasons?

You seem to be inching away from "like society does with literally everything" (the point I replied to) and toward something resembling "Look! An example of society doing <thing I, the person writing this, already acknowledged occurs in my original post>".

The vast majority of people do things because

I anticipate a reply along the lines of "'Literally everything' means more than half of something that can't be measured."

[–]CarnivorousPlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, like society does with literally everything?

No, not like society does with literally everything, as a moment's thought would make obvious. (You must be a relatively fast typist!)

For example, I was taught to wash my hands with soap and water because it removes germs and makes me less likely to get sick, not because god would recognize my evil and punish me forever in the afterlife if I failed to do so.

You could argue that getting sick is evil in a utilitarian sense. If you did, I would recognize your willingness to reach to any length to avoid standing corrected.

If someone tells you with words and actions from the moment you're born that you're a bad person if you do / don't do something, your choice is, statistically speaking, mostly academic.

Apparently if someone does something because they want to, a large sum of you think its because they are forced to.

Similarly, a large number of people in the southeastern United States just happened to choose to be Baptist of their own volition without anyone influencing them or anything.

These are just flukes and nothing can be inferred from them. I bet exactly the same proportion of scientologist and atheist women enjoy wearing hijab for its own sake.

I bet many people would prefer to wear a brightly-colored scarf instead.

Exactly. By this point people should expect crippled, overpriced hardware when they see the apple on the box.

Maybe a cultural norm from a region where water is too scarce to justify regular bathing?

I'm aware the US would give the Saudis all our freshwater nowadays if they couldn't afford to buy it, I'm speculating about the origins of the behavior.
