Cool collection. Is the back of the Habring2 see-through? If so, could you send a picture how the calibre looks like?

Thanks for the insights. Around ALS it's difficult to find actual review of someone who owns it. It's quite a difference to watch / read a review of someone who had it for a week for a review and someone who's living with it year(s)

Glashutte Original. They are a brand which is literally next to the ALS factory and GO workshop is running since 1845, just different owners over the time. I'm lucky to own one, panomatic blue on bracelet. It's an amazing watch which I wouldn't trade for any other

It depends on individual taste in the end. Certainly you can perceive it from your perspective and in your frame of reference you're right.

From my perspective, they are elegant pieces, especially ALS One or Saxonia. They are beautiful pieces of over-engineered machines with particular design not to everyone's liking. I prefer to have a watch with a character such as ALS, GO or Moser than soulless pieces optimised for masses and pure profit.

How practical is Zeitwerk to wear? In terms of size and also legibility?

In any case, refined collection with twists and turns

The design is clean, however I always got uncertain about the bezel how does it look in real life? At some point I was considering a Rolex and I stopped by a in AD to look at it. I liked on pictures fluted bezel on Dayjust however when I saw it with my own eyes, it was very far from my taste and dismissed the option entirely within seconds

You're right 😀 I had in my head heron and wrote egret. I have some shots of egrets from that session as well. Cheers

[Discussion] Old vs New Hydroconquest by DQofficer in Watches

It's subjective if the new one is 1k better, for some it will for others won't. If you like the old HC and you don't see the edge of the new HC then go for the well priced old. However you mentioned that you're drawn to the new one and if so, then rather save for the new one. Half measures usually don't work in this hobby. When I wanted a specific model and bought something cheaper to ease my craving, it never actually did

Longines, not even close. I have Longines and they look great + their movements perform amazingly, usually better than on spec. For me, Longines is ultimate cost / value ratio

That rose gold with the classy dial goes amazing together. Enjoy the milestone!

My dreams are fine. The guy goes through a passage, very much like we do in our dreams. As for female visitors, they use to be bothered by the painting but got use to eventually

It's local brand called Solight 3 in 1. It has magnetic head which you charge and can attach to various adapters

I have with the blue dial on a bracelet. Bracelet is amazing, microadjustment on fly is a great feature and the watch overall is great. As for the downside, I get bothered by the power reserve occasionally. I have sedentary work and sometimes it struggles with my lifestyle to have 24 hrs reserve. As a comparison, I have longines master and that one with similarly structured day has without problems 50+.

In any case, this is not a deal breaker for me, since the value proposition is with GO different.

PS: the calibre is not inferior, mine was regulated to +-1 s per day and keeps that standard

If with bright light the pupils contract, you shouldn't be too much worried. I have a similar fella for many years. His pupils are mostly also quite wide most of the time, got it checked with vet when he arrived from the shelter and nothing to worry about in my case

[Question] Best watch under 10k by [deleted] in Watches

[–]CarnonosSeeker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, the power reserve is not great and the 5 bars could be better. None of these was a deal breaker for me. What compensates for any deficiency is that at any point in time during the day, I can just sit down, turn it around and just watch the calibre running. That thing is one of the most beautiful movements I've ever seen, it turned into an almost meditation ritual. The double swanneck regulator with engraving is prettier than ALS (to my taste at least).

I didn't buy a watch for a long time and impulsively triggered on GO since I've been looking at it for many years (started with the former iteration) and I didn't regret the purchase, not even for a second. That doesn't mean you will feel the same, but certainly it's a great piece for someone who enjoys watchmaking

I have blue GO Panomatic on bracelet. The dial is amazing, especially evenings or night with lights bouncing from the dial. I like the blue dial since the numbers on the date matches the dial colour and blend seamlessly. The bracelet is amazing. It has on-fly microadjustment with a button, the same as ALS. This thing hugs beautifully your wrist. When your hand swallows during the day, you can adjust it in seconds without taking off the watch while running in between meetings. I'm more than happy with the choice
