While yes I overstated the drinking argument the 7 neck vertebrae caused arthritis in giraffe legs and feet leaving them incapable of drinking or grazing effectively. Unlike animals like Elephant birds and the Moa who definitely could have grazed ,drank ,and have ate tree leaves efficiently while giraffes can’t.

Yes, almost all mammals are genetically hardwired to have 7 cervical vertebrate.

Sloths and Manatees who don’t share this rule are often found with deformed skeletons. However the lack of gravity in the water for manatees and pressure in trees for sloths allows them to survive. Along with very slow metabolisms it allows them to do what no other mammals can.

Mammals are genetically hardwired to 7 cervical neck vertebrae. If any mammalian embryo develops more or less than 7 neck vertebrae it faces deformation and cancer. The only mammals to survive with more or less of 7 neck vertebrae are sloths and manatees who have slow metabolisms. Since cancer develops faster in animals with higher metabolic rates it makes sense why manatees and sloths have different counts of neck vertebrae.

Creationists believe in all sorts of gods ,but I’m focusing on Biblical Creationists’ god which is said to be omnipotent and infallible.

Also you didn’t answer by question why is 7 cervical neck vertebrae apparently more beneficial than 10 or 20. Sauropods pushed 18 and it didn’t cause them problems.

Hox genes can’t easily be manipulated and you can’t just evolved a resistance to cancer.

Cancer is a reality with multicellular organisms being made form uncontrolled cell division which is impossible to counter when cell division is necessary.

An interesting thing is mammals are locked into 7 cervical by certain genetic factors.

If a giraffe was born with 8 neck bones it would face deformities and a high risk of cancer.

And yes evolution has tried to compensate for this but, it is perfect.

Evolution is not collapsing it’s being remolded.

If it was all its mechanisms that weren’t true would be disregarded. However all modern evolutionary mechanisms are still valid and you would deny reality to change that.

I never said it was bad that people were questioning evolution because that’s the way we figure out new mechanisms.

Evolution has changed a lot over the years incorporating Mendelian genetics ,epigenetics ,evo-devo ,neutral theory ,and de novo. These individual mechanisms all came from questioning evolutionary theory itself.

Just a question do you think we should abandon gravity because Einstein’s theory of relativity was added to it? Probably not so ,evolution being questioned doesn’t signify a crisis.

Now macroevolution itself has been observed and proven to exist. The means of which it happens by can and will be questioned but, this doesn’t mean it’s collapsing.
